Fynn Michaels Poem
I open my eyes
No memory, no fear, no tears
The forest enveloping my whole
I stand, though, i stumble
I ran, though i tripped
The bright sun glares above me
The trees growing with every step
With every branch, a smile
With every flower, a tear
I journey through the forest
With tears and with fear.
I see the ocean blue from afar
The waves crashing against the shore
I look back at the forest behind
With birds and flowers growing evermore
I take a step into the sandy beach
The forest stopping behind my aching feet
I take a step further and there i saw
The sun fading, the moon rising

Fynn Michaels Poem
Come nightfall
The sun beacons the darkness
I stare at its setting glow and fading light
The sweet ocean breeze now bitter
I look back at the forest behind me
Trees and foliage cloud my judgment
I take a match and strike
The flames burning into the darkening night
I take a breath, smoke and ash filling my lungs
But i don’t run
Instead i turn back to the crashing waves
The ocean is calm
With a sigh, i stare at the burning trees
The burning leaves
And the burning birds
I take a step forward, the sand cold beneath my feet
The cool water invites me,
The fire glowing brighter.
I step back and stare at the rising sun
The forest now green
The waves now crashing
