Gerald Shadwick Poem
It all started with a simple hello, creating friendship,
To what is now considered wonderful companionship.
Through bad or better days, my heart is where you’ll stay…
You got that Sugar Honey Ice Tea babygirl, and I mean that in a good way.
You give me those feelings I haven’t felt for many nights
Looking into your eyes is like seeing the best of sites
Turned my frowns upside down, you make me wanna smile,
The flow of our chemistry is worth going the extra mile.
You have that kiss that makes a grown man weak,
Slows down time, but my heart never skips a beat.
From the elegance of your hair to your angelic voice,
Down to the sexiness of your walk and how you move your feet.
Some have asked if what we have is worth fighting for,
I tell ‘em “yeah it’s worth that… and a whole lot more.”
Like a knight slaying dragons, and I’ma take on four,
Brush ‘em off my shoulder, and prep up for 5 more…
I’ll be there to dry your eyes when you cry,
I’ll be there to hold you close, help you realize,
That where I wanna be should be no disguise,
I’ll do the time, regardless of how fast it flies….
You may have your doubts, and I may have mine,
But that shouldn’t stop us moving forward in time,
Cuz like the melody in the morning sung by the jaybirds,
You’re the one who’s inspired me to write these words…
I care 4 U...

Gerald Shadwick Poem
I love the way I feel when I look into your eyes,
That amber glow you show leaves a brotha hypnotized.
Its no surprise as to why you are my sweetest high,
You're a whole lot of woman in a little bitty size.
You give me the strength to be a better man,
I'll do so much for you simply because I can,
In your heart is the only place where I wanna be,
If someone takes that away, you'll see the diary of a madman!
You unlocked my cage and set me free,
From the solitary confinement I thought I was doomed to be,
Brought me to the heaven in which you reside,
Filled me with hugs-n-kisses in which you supplied.
You asked me before I why do I stay,
Well, someone like you dont come every day.
I made my choice cuz its mine to make,
No one will change that feeling I feel, make no mistake.
So whats the deal with this feeling that I feel?
It's the sunshine from my heart that I'd rather not conceal.
Dont worry about the future or what it may reveal,
I'll be holding it down for you and I'll be keeping it real...

Gerald Shadwick Poem
I wake up every morning thinking of my life,
Going from happiness with my son, daughter, and my wife,
To losing to it all from my mistakes and stupidity,
But now I have a new vision with the best of clarity.
I'll fight for my son, cuz his daddys #1,
I'll strive for my daughter, cuz shes my golden one.
I'll struggle for my family and only my true friends,
Cuz, theyre the ones who got my back til the end.
And until that time comes, I'ma keep pushing on,
With a head full of knowledge, and a body full of brawn.
With the lord as my protector, and not a plate of teflon,
I will fight the good fight without hiding behind a gun.
I was brought here on a mission, though I dont know the reasons,
And still I dont fall back, but spring forward through the seasons.
Runnin in the great race, gunnin for that 1st place,
Maybe I'll win the trophy and add it to my showcase.
If I could turn back the hands of time, I wouldnt do so,
Because it's my experiences that have helped me grow.
From the lowest lows of darkness, to the highest highs of light,
I promise to all that I'll keep on fighting the good fight.
