The Stranger in our land

Poem®
       THE STRANGER IN OUR LAND

The snake that you can see
But can't kill;
The oath you buried under the ground;
That controls your day-to-day activities;
A pain masked in favor of the leaders;
They say what they can't do,
For they bind heavy burdens, grievous to be borne,
And lay them on men's shoulders,
But won't use a single finger to help remove them.
Followers become their prey
All in the name of working for their spiritual heads.

See what you've caused us!
Hunger is felt by both the king and the slave,
but you've changed the narrative.
We have to give all that we have to them,
As in tithes and offerings.
They fill their pocket, fuel their cars,
feed their homes, and pay school fees for their sons and daughters.
And we?
Left with empty pockets and purses,
hungry bellies,
covering long distances on foot,
children dropped out of school for school fees
All in the name of faith of giving,
but it shall come back to bite you.

Are we now gambling our lives for this faith?
Since this stranger gained accommodation,
We've become slaves to him.
Are we suffering because we lack wisdom or we're blind?
Question for the Supreme.
The worst you did was to divide us,
Thrusting others to be convinced
When we secretly floundered in doubt.

Suddenly we've become rebels, killing ourselves, calling it "Holy War".
Holy War indeed!
Forgetting that another law says we should not kill.
Maybe there's an exception to it.

The stranger came masked up but we ignored it.
We ungratefully turned our backs on our cultures and traditions
And stopped revering our ancestors
Just because of this stranger;
Because he denounced them.

I'm no longer in for this prank.
I've missed those moments with my ancestors.
This stranger must return to where he came from.

Let them breathe

Poem:
      LET THEM BREATHE
Every single girl sings in a different tone
Some dance to the melodious lifestyle of their family
While some show their teeth to portray fake smile
In their heart, they keep bleeding in tears
Some feel 10? of the gifts of happiness the world can give
When they are with their compatriot
For their house is like a living hell
Let them breathe
When they opt to lay on the bed of culture and dance to the tune of morality
They become vulnerable prey to predators
When they are our daughters
We taste our soup
And when they are our step's
They feel the sharp blade of our body
Their backs become our drums
And their cheek our cymbals
At a young age, they hug stigmatization and torture as close buddies

When they're academically down
We forced them into marriage
Be it early marriage or not
Where they can face physical and emotional agony
Some flee from the unbearable threats at home
to enjoy the street's picnic
This was how some turned into sex workers
Please let them breathe

Even a small comment can leave a deep wound in a girl's mind
Their dress code is not an invitation for eve-teasing
We should guide them
We should love them
They should confide in us
So let them breathe
Allow the girl child talk
Let the girl child talk about what pains her
SLaDA says let girls talk

You break my world

Poem
  YOU BREAK MY WORLD

I gave you all
I mean all, all that our bond required
I thought you were here to stay
Not knowing you're here to cause a stain
You here to leave a pain I can't sustain
You changed in a
  the way I can't explain
You left my messages unread
Busy loving someone else
You left me under the hot sun waiting for you
While you're with someone else
You made me fall into your false world
I think I have fallen into your love world
I keep writing you Love poems and stories
And you keep resending them to someone else you love
They told me you're pretending
I told them they were wrong
They said there's nothing like true love from you
I told them they were lying about you
You've killed my heart and feelings
You ride me off from people who will come to my aid when I'm stress
I let go of close friends just to excite u
I was in love with my enemy and that's you
I felt I was in love
I thought I'd found a true one
You break my world
Like a broken glass
You left me fragile
You left me depressed but thank U
