Let the Children Be

Let the children be

The carefree laughter of a child, sweeps across the sky
The joy of playing and happiness can be seen
Eyes sparkle and cheeks are flushed with fresh air
The beauty and innocence of a child is everywhere

Man with wicked thoughts and perverted mind
Come to ruin the innocence of a child
To destroy that little world before it begins
To leave that life filled with scary things

Why must a child's innocence from him be taken
They don't deserve man’s evil intentions
The innocence of a child is the way to heaven
Evil men must pay for their actions

Preserve the beauty and innocence of a child
Permit them to be happy and free
God's children can show you a true smile
Let them be happy, let the children be.

Gee jy nog om? - english translation included

Vader sê “welsyn begin by jou eie”,
Maar van die heiden verkies jy verskeie.

Gee jy nog om vir jou naaste?
Of probeer jy versteek jou laste?
Kan jy sê ou God en myne is dieselfde?
Die waarheid oor jou lippe gebeur selde.

Gee jy nog om vir jou naaste?
Vals als wat jy doen, jou eie verluste?
Kan jy vir die Vader die eer gee,
Of gee dit vir jou naam ‘n weë?

Do you still care?

Do you still care for your neighbour near?
Will this truth hold as the end draws near?
When on our faith we must firmly stand,
Will you still praise the Father, hand in hand?

Do you still care for those by your side,
Or with the pagan casts, does your heart reside?
"The Father says charity begins with your own,"
Yet from heathens, you choose seeds to be sown.

Do you still hold your neighbour in your heart,
Or attempt to hide your flaws, playing a part?
Can you claim our Gods to be one and the same,
When truth on your lips, plays a vanishing game?

Do you still care for your neighbour, true,
Or is all that you do for your own gain, through and through?
Can you lift the glory to the Father above,
Or seek instead for your name, fame and love?

Empty Picture Frame

Empty picture frame

I have a frame with no photo or picture inside
I don't want a photo there because my past has died
I look at this which reflects my feelings and emotion
I can only fill it with a face that brings happiness and fortune

When you lose things that brings meaning to your life
Every day is empty and filled with loneliness and strife
The knowledge that I did nothing to make things go wrong
Brings more pain and my heart sings the saddest song

I feel as though I have been laid down to rest
Because loving you is like taking each living breath
You who gave me joy and pain I call by name
You are the reason, and you are my empty picture frame.

Yesterday and Tomorrow

Yesterday and Tomorrow

Yesterday was filled with so many promises of happiness
And now all I have to remind me is empty tomorrows
Yesterday I had you and the world was at my feet
Now my world is shattered and the glass cuts my feet

Together we hoped and dreamed but that was yesterday
We were both searching for true love, night and day
If only we knew what heartache tomorrow would bring
We would have clung to the joy we had with everything

We can count all the ifs and could have been's
There would be more than the stars in the skies
But all we have is the memories of yesterday
That make it possible for us to live tomorrow

Yesterday I learnt about the reality of loving
Now I am learning about heartache and pain
Today I have found a new friend – sorrow
Between two different worlds – yesterday and tomorrow

Just a - Haiku's

Just a Haiku’s

You made me dumb drunk
I gave a for your mind
It was just a

Dim of mind you are
Thinking that a is love
It was just a

Paper bag o'er head
Is how I wished you to be
It was just a

When I did you
It was her face I did see
It was just a

Regret meeting you
Nearly lost the one I want
You were just a

The Nature of You

The Nature of You

Perfection is looking into your eyes and seeing our souls dance like the flickering flames of fire reaching for the stars, or watching water swirl around a rock in a shallow brook.
Watching the wind gently caress the long, swaying grass — all the slow movements that ensnare you in a trance.

Happiness in your voice whispers to the recesses of my mind, like the crackling of a fire that pops in tiny explosions, or the gurgling babbling of a brook, the laughter of water sprites.
Whispers of secrets in the swishing grass, only our souls know — all the sounds that echo of joy found only in the heart.

Serenity in companionship, providing peace for the soul, like the dying embers of a fire emitting a soft glow, or a lazy river gently flowing with promises of peace and calm.
A soft breeze that carries fragrance to lull your senses —a peace that flows through you and gives your soul a home.

New Family

New Family

You're born into your family; you don't get to pick.
Sometimes it's tough; you and they don't always click.
There are times when you feel like you're not heard,
Walking on eggshells, careful with every word.

But as you go through life, you find others just right,
Friends who become your chosen family, holding you tight.
The joy they bring fills your heart to the brim,
And soon enough, they're like siblings, lives not grim.

You get to choose who you spend your days with,
Creating a family bond that's more than a myth.
You share your dreams and fears, through thick and thin,
With these friends, you just click; it's a win-win.

These are the people who see the real you,
Embrace all your flaws, and stick like glue.
They're there for the journey, won't let you drift away,
They're your safety net, come what may.

Committee of Vultures

Committee of Vultures

There they sit squabbling
Up in a tree or on the ground
Waiting greedily for the next carcass
Laughing, they don’t care how it got dead

Always waiting to rip to shreds
Pushing and shoving to be the first
They yearn for blood but it's rotting flesh
They will pick and pick, till the bones are bare

Their sharp beaks, squawk who’s best
They preen their feathers ever so proud
The putrid stench still sticks to their feathers
In their committee they huddle, another to devour

A Time to Heal

A Time to Heal

The time has come to move on in life
Leaving behind the tears and strife
The time has come to start to feel
And let all the old wounds heal
Put away those fears and lonesome thoughts
Or your life will come to nought
Learn all over again to sing in your heart
So everything will become bright
Learn to laugh and cry with no bitterness
And you’ll be sure to find happiness
The time has gone for pain so real
The time has come to heal.
