Andrew Thomas Poem
I saw you in a dream I never had
sitting on a bench
in a depressing slouch
face strangeld with tears
I saw you in the days that are gone
swept away in the receding tide
during the duration of a colorless setting sun
a sad song sung that day
I saw you in the tears I've never shed
screaming to break free
desspretely seeking shelter from the storm
regret stabs at a broken heart
I saw you a thousand times today
though not figureaitve
a fatigued source of thought,
conspires against the truth
I saw you in the eyes of the others
heard your voice above theirs
as I wished that they were you,
my perfect painted picture was destroyed

Clensing summer's raging wrath
White blankets refresh

Andrew Thomas Poem
You came to us so quietly
so sudle, with overflowing innocence
such excitement in the air
with thoughts of the first view of your beautiful face
such eagerness in our blood
to kiss your perfect forehead for the first time
To picture life without you now
is as impossible as digging to the center of the earth
to watch you grow
builds a back draft of love that consumes my heart
a smile on your face
put a smile on my face
no matter what tribulations the day brought
no matter how foul your diapers smell
or how many times I have to say no
its worth every breath I breathe
every blink of my eyes
because every ray of sunshine is on you
and you are the rays of sunshine that shine upon me
your my investment for better days
and a reason to be here tomorrow

Andrew Thomas Poem
The outkast of the class,
sat alone, Indian style in the corner
So unique caused by newness
but such the same
because of appearance
The invitation of bonding
was brought about
and he was accepted as a brother
Days, months, and years
were logged in the the history books
and I still call him brother to this vary day
All the smiles and tears
was an adhesive to bond brotherhood for life
All the stupid acts committed
acted as a spice to smile
especially when life seemed so hopeless
and tomorrow seemed so far away
Those days sculpted me
And with a eternal carving
to have that back once again
I sit, and humble myself
with a reality of growing up
I will always have remembrance
of this outkast as helping hand
someone to laugh with
and someone to cry with
I will never forget my brothers
And how everybody helped each other
Even with absence of words
Our memories are tattooed in my brain
They will remain there forever
Bonding with an outkast
created love for a brother

Andrew Thomas Poem
Life passes quickly
The same eyes blink year by year
Time won't stop for you
Expected old age will come
A life story is written

Andrew Thomas Poem
Another rainy day in the heartache season
Another heart blown to pieces
choices stained by confusion
stubborn, gray clouds keep me company
Another tear sheds because of me
Another dream burns like a ciggerette
just living life without life
and sleeping with my eyes open
Another sad song plays on the radio
Another night alone in my bed
these lonesome walls have nothing to say
no sun shinning through the windows
Another worthless day without you
Another lost cause when wake
my guitar sobs as do I
my mind bubbling with tired thoughts
Another "what could have been"
Another "what should have been"
a future fades away without faith
the filthy facts sting and fester
Another conclusion to this stage of life
Another bad ending, go figure
just concentrate on the future, not the past
then I'll find my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

Andrew Thomas Poem
A gaunt face with lifeless eyes
stares at a lonely pale ceiling
counting revolutions of the gothic fan
still hands as insects sustain their stance
skin stained of yellow nicotene and black coffee
nostrils detect sents of mold and overfilled ashtrays
A tounge of sandpaper scores and scratches
in a mouth as dead as the day
gums bleed of hygene neglagence
cloged ears await a sound from the dust caked phone
But all bridges have been set ablaze
a hunger-struck stomach annoys with roars and bellows
and as a fly lands on my nose, I remember to blink

Andrew Thomas Poem
I do long to be with you
To wipe you tears of sadness
As well as your tears of joy
To warm myself with your kiss
on the coldest of winter nights
And to refresh myself with your touch
when the hot summer sun beats on my back
To give me confidence that tommorrow will come
and no matter how hard the wind blows,
the thunder rolls, and the lightning strikes,
we can ride it out
To see your assuring smile
the first thing in the morning
And the eyes that I get lost in
before our good night kiss
To feel such security
when I feel your body next to mine
And such serenity
when the aroma of your sweet skin
fills me from head to toe
I have faith that when old age is upon us,
the memories of us that have stained my brain
will take away the pain of our rotting bodies
And the pain of the reality
that all good things must end
Because there is a bench in heaven
Surrounded by beautiful pureness
And there will be a seat saved
for either me or you
