Dream Lover

Last breath of reality
Before my dream begins
A romance destined for fatality
Where my heart never mends

Living out a fairytale
For only a quarter of each day
The pleasure comes with pain
But the pain never goes away.

While i sleep, you remain close to me
And treat me like your queen
You whisper sweet nothings in my ear
And keep me feeling so serene.

You kiss me like im dying
Like tomorrow is the end
And everyday I'm lying
Telling you you're just a friend

You hold me in your arms so tight
Promising to never let me go
Holding me all through the night
But morning is my foe.

Waking up in disappointment
I feel like the roles have changed
My life seems like a nightmare
The sweetest dream left my life deranged.

My dreams actually seem more real;
It's embarrassing just to admit
Reluctantly trying to share how i feel
Yet i've never felt so adamant.

Dreamlover, if you knew,
Youd tell me its just fine
But thats not what i want from you
I want your love all the time.

7654 ... 321

The 7,654th day of my life
Who would've thought it could be?
That all of those days of waiting,
This day would set me free?

Why do I feel like today could be it?
When I've been counting down,
but zero has yet to hit?

My heart keeps beating
My blood stays flowing
But my brain is overheating
Without me even knowing

You came into my life
Without fair warning
Consistantly reminding me you care
Each and every morning

It's like destiny introduced us
And faith made us close
As if God sent me an angel
When i needed one most.

You are the exact definition
of what a real man should be;
A true lover, husband, father & friend
You're perfect, but that's something you don't see.

In my eyes you're much more
Than what you'll care to believe.
Because you're my best friend and confidon,
And the truth is what I perceive.

If I died today, I can say that
I'd be sure of only one thing
That meeting you is greatest joy
That my life could ever bring

So when it's all said and done,
I'm still counting down
7 - 6 - 5 - 4 ... 3 - 2 - 1
Zero still has yet to come.
