mountains of words float on the sea of her grief

mountains of words float on the sea of her grief
steely cold
truth
penetrates to bone
comfort is empty
powerless with such limp lies
her raw heart
is drowning
her screaming
mouth
is muffled with cotton balls
to silence
the ocean of agony

A Child is Born

The sweetest child to walk our stricken earth -
He is the message from the Lord above.
In His words are beauty, love and worth.

A call to hope and peace and grace-filled love,
who truly knew this treasure at his birth?
He is the message from the Lord above.

As he lay swaddled close to mother earth -
a Prince, a Saviour for our crying world,
who truly knew this treasure at his birth?

The angels sang from heaven’s gates of pearl.
The shepherds found the babe and gazed in awe.
A Prince, a Saviour for our crying world!

The wise men wandered far towards the star.
Their hearts were touched with longing and with joy.
The shepherds found the babe and gazed in awe.

With hopeful eyes, they marveled at this boy,
the sweetest child to walk our stricken earth.
Their hearts were touched with longing and with joy.
In His words are beauty, love and worth.

Watch Out for Hate

Hate will always stamp out peace.
right along with joy and life .
Hate is an ugly tormentor of the hearts
of humankind.
All it can do is spew out anger
and violence
and catastrophe,
filling the cup to the brim,
with bitterness.

Today
we can seek out hate,
the hate in our own hearts.
We can call it out,
look at it with wise eyes
rebuke it,
do one kind thing
for the object of our hate.
It is our only hope.
The world cannot
survive, my friend,
if hate exterminates
love.
