A Journey of the Unknown

I started this journey a year ago.
To improve my communication with the world I know,
I made the decision to find a deeper meaning in myself.
I feel like I had let myself down growing up.
By hiding in the shadows of my own self-doubt.
Lacking confidence was the case, but now, I can take on anything I face.
The self-doubts creep in my mind but I am stronger this time.
I have learned over time that you need to learn to control your mind.
You need to find the balance that you seek,
To stand on your own two feet.
I have made some friends,
Who have shown me a different way.
I am more focused than I once was.
I am stronger in my own confidence now.
I have been pushed outside my comfort zone,
I have been challenged to see life from a different perspective.
Sometimes that’s not a bad thing.
I will continue down my own path of self-discovery.
As I search for what I seek.
Will I ever find what I am searching for?
That is the beauty to our world.
We have our whole lives to search for what we seek.
Don’t give up on your dreams.

Champion

Im not a champion in a ring
Some days I wonder if I belong in there.
I dont have medals hanging around my neck..
I will be honest, not sure what I want.
Standing there thinking to myself
what did I get into now?
How bad will this hurt?
crossed my mind a time or two.
How else do I get prepared?
For the world I live in?
I have never had the hatered to hurt someone else.
Nor do I want to fight anyone now
I need to know my skills will protect me against,
more than, a heavy bag, in a gym.
I know how it feels to get punched in the head.
Need to keep my hands up more than I did.
Maybe I should have listened instead.
I may not be ready for this,
I need to know I can protect myself with my own two fists.
Standing there eye to eye.
Proving to yourself you won’t run and hide.
Do I have it in me?
To stand and fight?
The feelings that have been holding you captive all this time.
No one understands how you feel inside.
Never will you tell a soul, the real mess that hides within.
I understand the fear that holds you paralyzed.
I have fought similar demons at night.
Different roads same results.
Full of self doubt and anxiety.
I know how scary it is to let someone in.
Don’t trust, shut them all out.
Don’t let anyone see the tears
As they pour down and smash off the ground.
Holidays are hard when you’re alone.
but never forget where you came from.
You’re no longer a prisoner to the war you fight inside.
Plant your feet and stand your ground
Wait to throw the winning punch
You’re a warrior and thats enough!

Oak tree

I heard your cries late at night.
I felt your pain through my veins.
I was there to greet you rain or shine.
I have been there since you were a lad,
I watched as you and your siblings played and laughed.
In the wind you could hear me sing,
Through the rain you could watch me grow.
I know all the secrets that you keep.
Even though no one asked me to play,
I played in my own kind of way.
On that hot summers day,
I watched as your first kiss carried you away.
I was in the pictures that you took for graduation.
Times go by and the years pass,
My strength has dwindled
My foundation is weak
And my destiny looks bleak.
I overheard something the other day,
How could you get rid of me after all these years?
There are a hundred reasons for your decision, I know!
But who will I watch play and grow?
Whose secrets will I keep now?
Everything comes to an end; it is part of God’s grander plan.
I just hope no one forgets
About the oak tree that once lived.

Reflections

Look in the mirror what do you see?
The reflection in the mirror doesnt look like me.
A year has passed, and times have changed.
Conquer the fears holding you captive
in your mind.. One audience at a time.
Find your voice and stand your ground,
even if you're standing alone.
Don't let anyone tear you down.
Try to communicate how you feel
Even if it goes astray some days.
Don't be afraid of the unknown
Thats where growth is found.
Never jeopardize who you are
Shining bright like a star.
Leaving an impact on every heart touched.
You never know when your time will be done.
Never give up on yourself and your dreams.
The smallest flame flickers in the dark.
Cherish relationships along the way,
they all have a lesson in life to play.
Never forget where you came from
Dont let your past control your future.
You're enough, the way you are! ~*~

Outside

Time to be honest with yourself..
the country isnt what we once knew.
the country is a scary place these days.
Peoples beilefes are no longer the same.
God is gone and has been replaced.
The devil is winning the game this time
Work ethics seem to be a lost art.
The migrant crisis is taking our wages and homes.
Now they are living under our roads.
How do you protect yourself?
How do you walk about?
You can not live in fear,
That is no way to live.
Never thought I would feel this way.
Sadly these are the days we are living in.
no one is safe anymore..
do you know your neighbor next door?
Inflation of gas, food and oil
What do we do tomorrow?
Money is short and inflation is high
here we struggle to get by.
The world I knew is now gone.
Never thought I would be scared
to walk alone.
Wheres God when you need him the most?
Looking to the sky late at night..
you’ll find Gods lessons hiding in the stars.
Hold his lessons close to your heart
And know you have the strength to protect yourself.
