Dangerous Dalliance

Yesterday the world engaged askance
And as you held my hand
As surely as the firmament of Earth
The hardening of your gaze
Assured my spirit of your recant

It is in the world we know it as time itself
here shadows bend within visions far beyond hope
Mountainous, like regions where eternals dwell
The pillage of my heart takes hold

With things to mend and tasks to undertake
Where luminescent dalliances of shade
Cast orbs betwixt the spheres of dawn
You stand, deft in your repose
And I wait, ready to meet your gaze

Where words of wisdom
Sing within your gaited frame
All hopes of reason rise beyond this dawnless day
And long begotten promises of future fate
Cast only spells of love
And nothing late

It Happened On a Misty Morning

Misty mornings drew us in
Where footprints deftly shod within
The steps of heart we took to find
The beating of eternal kind

The Boats In the Harbour

The many boats around sit in the harbour
One tailing the other now and then
Serried lined and flanked with one another
They pause for thought gathering day before them

The ferrous water sits so still in motion
As plankton line the sterns and afts like moluscs
Peeping over ropes and bobbing under
Waiting out the storming rain and thunder

They never see a passer by or vendor
Instead their vision remains steady on the water
Where promises of undulating sea throngs
Bring mystery to ocean faring wonder

The Calling

The winged winds are whistling
Reaching up t'wards highest reaches
Opening doors and slamming them shut just as eagerly
Lying in wait, to snap at the heels of antiquity
The winds know the world before and after
But the world is not yet ready...

Upward, upwards, spiralling out of the world
Relinquished above clouds
With children running below
Carrying kites and fighting to be first
Singing and laughing and shouting at the wind
Saying, "Come play with us!" And, "We can run fast!"
But the wind is not with them...

Onwards, onwards, turning tides against the world
Seething over causeways and sweeping through vastly
Harrying reeds and their loose, knotted grasses
Making a shield of pure motion against the sky
And in the shrill hum of commotion in all that is
The wind makes its eternal melody
And in such, the wind is holding fast...

The wind knows only where it goes
And it flows and billows anywhere the wisdom wills
Seeking out new edifices, places to spring from
New heights in low planes
Making stiff young faces
Gleam, dancing like renegades
Leaving without trace or setting seam
The wind says, "You're not the only one I want."
But the world is not listening...
