Harrison Fairchild Poem
MAYA ANGELOU INSPIRED ME WITH THE POEM STILL I RISE
I've been judged by the color of my skin
Treated like i'm a nothing,a nobody
Called by many a name:a fool, a nothing,not even a human
But i continue to rise
They hate me for who i am
They try their best to put me down
They try to fill my heart with despair
But yet i still continue to rise
Every chance they get,its to cause me hurt
They look at me like i'm some kind of abomination
They constantly seek my extermination
But i still continue to rise
Do they hate me for just being me
That i don't follow the crowds,or go with their flow
The fact that i'm different from them
The fact that i don't do the same things they do.
And as if that wasn't enough
My own race at times shun me, and criticize each other
Their constanly going against one another, son against father, daughter against mother
Sometimes i feel trapped in this malice
Smothered in this constant hatery of the races
We all must try to seek freedom and redemption
This is why i must continue to rise
I offer prayers to those in need of prayers
I shed a tear for the fallen and broken, watching the tears become a river
Can you people see this black youth's tears
All i can do now is pray for peace, hope, and better days
In fact, let me say a prayer in hopes of better days
For these reasons i'm gonna continue to rise
I want to say peace and love to people in the east, west, north, and south.
To lift them all out of misery, sorrow, and doubt
R.I.P. and love to those who've come and gone.
Good luck and better days to those who've yet to be born.
R.I.P. to my people who're no longer here.
Love to those who're fighting for a better future
But until the day that i can see you all again
I will continue to live, continue to dream
Through all the pain,sadness,and rain.
The sun will shine one day again.
And we'll hold hands and watch hope rise
Which is why for that I WILL STILL CONTINUE TO RISE..

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Come forth O falling watery purifier
Fall down upon me
Cleanse me of my sins
Make pure,make me clean
Wash away my earthly desires
My crimes of the flesh
Douse this burning yet corrupted fire
Wash away the Greed, lust, and all the rest
O Wondrous God
He who resides
In his kingdom in the sky
Please hear my cry
Send forth the rain
Call forth the rain
To rain down on the earth
To wash away all the burdens and the pain
To drown the suffering
The tears and sorrows of yesterday
To call forth
The radiant sun on the next day
Can hear me world
To all men and women
Little boys and girls
The rain has stopped
Becasue it has cleanse the world

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Be at peace my brethren
Both younger and older
No matter your struggles
An angel rests upon your shoulders
The messengers,warriors of God
Virtuous beings of life and light
Dressed in light of golden armor
on wings take flight
In our darkest hour of despair
In our ears they whisper words of hope and love
They speak the decreed of the almighty
The King that reigns unmatched surpreme above
The angels will speak to us
In our moments of doubt
To give back strength and hope
To drive the demons out
There's hope my people
Look no further
Could you feel the presense
Of the holy on your shoulder

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Follow the Yellow Brick Road
So the song say
Follow it, follow it on down to something
Something good to make your day
Follow the Yellow Brick Road
To your own personal OZ, your own land of fantasy
And leave behind the cold harsh logical truth
of the cruel world known as reality
Come all and live in a world where you have the power
To mold it however you see fit
Shape your fantasy into a world where you and whomever
Can properly fit in it
To live in a dream world with no, pain, no suffering
No drowning in past sorrows
Just to look forward
to the brightness of tomorrow
Where the people are smiling standing together
All equals side by side
Not one face is hanging in shame
But held high with pride
The buildings reaching higher and higher
Oh Lord look how they reach so high
The birds sing their song as they move
through the sky
But sadly, like every story that is steep
in the genre of fantasy
The time came too fast, it quickly passed
Your dream world of joy turns upside down
into something dark and downright scary
Your colorful world turns dismal ash
The people are no longer smiling, Their
just cold blank lifeless faces
Crowding in various worn out places
and spaces
Where did the joy go. What brought this depressing atmosphere
you thought you've escaped from.
But in your growing despair, you haven't noticed
there's more dread to come
The buildings are crumbling
The yellow brick road is breaking
The people are disappearing
Your wonderful Metropolis is fading
You become frighten, nay
you become frantic
You look for a way out
Oh Lord where is the exit
Then the ground caves in
right where you're standing
And now you're falling
and falling
falling
Grasping for anything, screaming for anyone listening
Now you've fallen into the dark maelstrom
of nothing, completely lost, forevermore vanishing
What a way to go. A downer, bittersweet ending
to this sad sad story
What is the moral of it all
Pray
Pray that you don't get lost in the evanescent land of Fantasy

Harrison Fairchild Poem
I HEAR A SOUND IN THE DISTANCE
A SOUND ONLY I CAN HEAR AND FEEL
I HEAR IT IN MY MIND
I FEEL IT WITH MY BODY
WITH MY SOUL
A RESONATING SOUND WITH THE FURY OF A THUNDERSTORM
THE ROLL OF THUNDER
THE FLASH OF LIGHTNING
THE BLACKENING OF THE SKY
ONLY ONE THING COMES TO MIND
A CHANGE IS COMING
A FORCE SO POWERFUL
ALSO INEVITABLE
UNCHANGEABLE
AS SUCH IS CHANGE IN LIFE
LIKE A FORCE OF DOMINATION
A BETTER DESCRIPTION
A TIME OF RISING ACSENSION
OR FALLING DESENSION
SO THERE IS ONLY ONE QUESTION
ARE YOU READY FOR CHANGE

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Gang wars
Gang violence
Constant carnage
Endless bloodshed
Why do they continue this
This endless bloodletting
The streets run red
Like the Nile River
But brought by steel and metal
Not by the hand of God's follower
Too many deaths,too many tears
To many peoples lives torn asunder
So man innocence has bled out
Too many put six-feet under
God please hear your son
down here in the blood soaked dirt
Why do so many of your children
seek to cost each other death and hurt
In these streets there's no mecry
In these streets there's no peace
Only one thing is here in these streets
Blood
Life Blood
Innocent blood
Bad Blood
Blood in these streets

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Do you wanna know how i feel about you
Do you wanna know the feelings i have for you
Do you know how i dream of us two becoming one
Do you know that my love for you burns with the white hot intensity of a million suns
Do you know of the love i've got for you
That it goes deeper than any ocean, thats how i define this emotion
Do you know of the feelings i have for you
That i feel so high,my feet flow away from the ground,i can touch the sky
Do you know of this fire that burns for you
It runs deep this desire, burns hot does this fire.
My love for you will always be
Because you are so dear to me
This love i have will foever be for you
Because these are my feelings for you

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Never a day goes by that i give praise
to the name of one who raised
me up from a state of sorrow
and gave me a sight of a beautiful tomorrow
Where the world is in a state of malice and panic
and too many times they take things for granted
ant in their hearts an evil has been planted. They need
the Lord's help to supplant it, all the pain and anguish
and the constant use of bad language out the mouths of
the youths of every age like animals in a cage with their eyes
filled with sadness and rage, all i can say, is people let us pray.
For those that need a release, pay to the Lord for peace
I'm not gonna say this once, i'm gonna say this twice and
with all my might, i'll say this alright.
I GOT LOVE FOR GOD,I GOT LOVE FOR GOD

Harrison Fairchild Poem
I'm crying out with these emotions that i'm can't explain
I'm crying out with two emotions in my heart,my sadness, and my pain
My tears flow out like a river fall into an endless ocean
My mind feels like its at war with my emotions.
Can you see my tears as they flow out
Can you see the pain in my eyes
Can you understand the pain I'm suffering from
Can you hear me asking why
I'm crying because of the world's ever escalating malice
I'm crying because of the news always showing victims of murderers and rapists
I'm crying because seeing so many deaths.
I'm crying because of seeing innocents breathing their last breaths
I'm crying because of people dying on the street corners
I'm crying along with the other mourners
These tears are for those who've died in wars, barrios, and ghettos
Even though we it was their time to go
I'm crying because the the pain will never go away
The tears will never disappear
All i can do now is pray
And that people can see this black youth's tears

Harrison Fairchild Poem
Why do i find solace in my loneliness
But find sorrow with those wit whom i share the same blood
Why do i hide behind these fake smiles of happiness
When this sorrow and unrest washes over my soul like a flood
Its pathetic how i'm laughing on the outside
Laughing at how everyting is all right
While i'm crying and dying on the inside
Not wanting anyone to see my sad sad plight
Why is it that i continuosly distance myself
from those who are or try to get close
I see love as nothing more than a drug
that people are addicted to the point of overdose
I am one who finds solace in despair
in sorrow,in sadness,in darkness
I am one who feels pain in love
I see it as evil like a vulture, instead of pure like a dove
Love can build, but it can also destroy
It takes away everything, all of the joy
Despair may seem like incarnated bitterness
But its there to comfort in the face of loneliness
I find myself wishing for the company of the feeling of melancoly
Its as if i can't function without it
Like a flower without an ounce of water
Could this feeling be,truly be love
I see that in the end, that i find myself in a paradox
A large cell with many locks
Two sides of the same coin
Love and Despair,Despair and Love
Despair in Love,Love in Despair
I can't make it disappear
Don't want to make it disappear
