In the Veil of Oddity

Amidst the enigmatic tides of time, peculiar occurrences unfold
As light withdraws, distant and aloof, leaving shadows to elongate
The sun's standstill seems to stretch eternity, casting deeper shades
Breath, once warm within the breast, crystallizes into icy blocks
Fear's scorching touch dissolves the flesh from fragile bones

In this epoch of strangeness, the valley plunges like a voracious grave
Souls descend like autumn leaves, fluttering from a withered tree
Their destiny entwined with ash's embrace, and dust's eternal slumber
The gaping yawn, a maw of hunger, akin to a ravenous beast

In this curious epoch, fear slips through the gates, a murderer of sleep
Once towering towers of prayers crumble to fragments, lost and adrift
Taking flight akin to bats fleeing from infernal flames' embrace
Judgment, akin to a patient vulture, observes and waits in the shadows

In this cryptic moment, That One stands at the door, a relentless knocker
No invitation sought, entering like a divine lord, to demand retribution
Even for debts not yet due, leaving one stripped and empty-minded
In these inexplicable times, our essence eludes illumination

No, not when anarchy ascends its throne, and sin thrives with delight
Even faith wanders like a spectral specter, seeking solace and redemption
Pleading for a stake to pierce its heart, to know some form of release

The Diminishing Light

As the oil dwindles, the flame slowly recedes,
Its once radiant gleam now a fading bead.
Stealthily, darkness creeps in like a thief,
Snuffing out life with a touch of grief.

With an icy grasp, akin to a ruthless foe,
Darkness seeks to extinguish and bestow,
Even the glowing embers of our hearth,
Quenching them with troubled waters' mirth.

Let us keep the shadows at bay and apart,
Preserving the remnants of our radiant heart.
Hold up lit candles till true dawn arrives,
When this tyranny ends, hope survives.
