Arms Length

I want to write to you the endless paragraphs I dream about sending you,
Then shut the door behind and never look back but what good will it bring?

You’re too good for me, and I hate that.
I’m fragile, and clingy,
One wrong move and i’ll crumble.

I hate you, I love you,
I wish you knew how much you hurt me at times.
You don’t know it, and you don’t mean it I’m just blaming you too much.

I need to stop, I need to limit us,
So now I’m going to keep you at arm’s length now,
No more and no more.

Regret Hurts

Regret, how it hurts.
Doesn’t matter how many times I wish you were back, you’ll never come back.

You’re gone, and went in the worst way there was in my opinion.
I cried and I sobbed when I heard the news, we all did.

We had a chance to know, a chance to save you.
But we were too oblivious to the letter before it’s too late.

They were awful, vile creatures from the woodworks,
And all I can do is pray that they get their karma.

I said horrible things, In a moment of apprehension,
From what my mother went through as a child.

But I should’ve never blamed you,
You were just a child yourself.

I had so many things to say,
So many times to say “I love you”

But I’m too late.
Now all I can is sit and talk to your headstone,
Wishing I said everything before I was too late.

Green-Eyes

I hate my green-eyes sometimes,
They’ll just glare at you and blame you for everything I do.
Why?

Love shouldn’t be this cold,
one wrong move and you’re gone and away from here.
Why?

You’d write poems about me, to me even.
We’d even create paper airplanes together.
So where has that all gone?

Surely I’m not going mad?
Surely I’m not being unreasonable?
Surely I’m not wrong?

My Life

I will enjoy life.

I will enjoy the peace it brings me,
and learn from the lessons it has taught me.

I will let the wind blow through my hair,
let me eyes gaze up the Sun and it's watercolours.

I will continue to let me ears relish in every subtle and soft symphony there is,
and let me skin prickle in reaction to the cold every time.

Just this once, I will let my life slow down,
I will let every emotion pass through me and come at once. While I will welcome each with a tight embrace.

And I shall pause, and turn my head back to see just how far I've gotten, while also appreciating how far I've still yet to do. I will remember every hopeless and hopeful time I had, and be grateful for all.

I will enjoy my life. Enjoy it while I can.
