As light leaves us,
the truth is unveiled.
A girl lies with sorrows unscaled.
To wither and die,
without hope on her side.
She can no longer see a light,
to guide her through those forsaken nights.
She waits for a sign,
that all will come in line.
She is in pain,
with no one to help, all efforts sought in vain.
When will the girl see,
there are others like she.
Others share her pain,
others like me.
Her light once pierced through the shadows,
it was a beacon through the night.
Now it is only a dying flame,
leaving the world to darkness,
cowering in shame.
A girl lies dying in her pain.

Why can't I eat?
Do I look fat?
I don't want to eat.
Who is the girl I see,
is that me?
It can't be me.
They say it's me but they can't see,
it hurts, I feel weak.
I think I'll sleep.

Why do people change?
Why can't we stay the same?
When life begins everyone's in wonder,
nothing's in vain.
As life goes on it wears us down,
it brings on pain.
Some triumph, other fail;
they lose hope, fall into despair.
Why do things change?
Why can't they stay the same?
the world was good and just,
then greed and lust grew.
The world was new and now the pure of heart are few.
Why do heart's change?
Why can't they stay the same?
Our hearts' desire to love,
we're created to love.
But the heart is fragile and becomes weak.
hatred and jealously overpower the meek;
And slowly the heart dies, in silence, in peace,
in remorse the heart leaves us to seek, until found,
what is no longer sound.

Strong on the outside,
breaking on the inside.
I'm the shoulder you cry on,
the wisdom you depend on.
Strong and wise,
it's all on the outside.
If you could really see,
how the world takes a toll on me.
Only then will you see,
I'm a hero to you
but I'm a victim of discord's siege.

In the darkness we meet.
In the darkness we seek.
We seek a connection,
A companion with which to speak.
We speak of the past.
We speak of the present, of topics most dearest.
In the darkness all becomes clear.
In the darkness we meet in fear.
We fear to show our love; A love that cannot come to be.
We are trapped by time and wish to be free.
In the darkness we laugh.
In the darkness we dream.
We dream of futures gone astray.
We escape the world, if only for a few hours we hide away.
In the darkness we lay.
In the darkness we shall stay.
