Mom's Smile

In a bustling market, her presence known,
A fish monger, with strength she had sown.
Her hands were weathered, calloused, and strong,
She labored all day, where she belonged.

Amidst the fishy scent, her dreams took flight,
For her children's future, she'd fiercely fight.
A mother's love, a flame burning bright,
Igniting hope, banishing the night.

Neighborhoods whispered, tried to hold her back,
"Send your kids away," they urged an attack.
But she stood firm, defiance in her eyes,
"I'll break this cycle," she fiercely defies.

With unwavering resolve, she chose a different path,
Her teenage children, sent abroad, they'd find a better aftermath.
In distant Thailand, they toiled away,
While she held on, hope to guide her each day.

She refused to let poverty define her brood,
Educating her children, her mission pursued.
Through silent tears, her resolve never shook,
Her dreams of success, forever she'd look.

She wore her motherhood as a badge of pride,
For daring to dream, and pushing the tide.
With every fish sold, she'd cast away doubt,
Her love, an anchor, no storm could flout.

Years flew by, and her dreams came true,
Her offspring's graduation, a triumph anew.
A photograph framed, against her old basket,
Her tears now transformed into a steadfast smile.

Proudly she stands, a mother's victory,
Her children's achievements are a testament to see.
From poverty's grip, she broke the chain,
Her legacy is forever etched in a triumphant refrain.

In that market, she stands tall and strong,
A symbol of resilience, where she belongs.
