Anna Culotta Poem
You were a weed that grew in my garden
Your throws grew, climbing up slowly-
Sharp enough, you penetrate my rose.
You took away everything that was pure and beautiful.
You swallowed my garden whole.
Now all that grows here is false beauty-
An emptiness created-
A barren land and a layer of dust reminding me of once was.
Intensifying the pain of dying innocence.
Yet there you stand, so radiant and bright-
Captivating a lover’s eye
Now you grow in so many different gardens,
Waiting for your next victim to be planted.

Anna Culotta Poem
Heart beating so fast-
You make my palms sweaty
Your love grants me peace.
With you I can change
My world-simply because
My perspective of the world
Has changed.
I see it clearly like the sea
Glass on the ocean floor.
I wonder how long it took
For it to get where it needed
To be –
Making it so beautiful
The ocean helped make it that way-
Guiding the change.
Your love is my ocean.

Anna Culotta Poem
When you think of flowers
blooming you think of the
stages they have to go through-
toget to the point of being
admired by rhe world, even
captivating a lover's eye-
as if it is waiting to be plucked and cherished eagerly.
But the ones I cherish
bloom in my heart. You planted
them there so unexpectedly.
From a seed, you planted an idea.
From a sprout, you guided me to reach
towards the sky. You water
me daily, feed my soul, nuture my
sprouts- encouraging me to
grow strong and tall.
And when I am resilient to
all weather conditions-
I bloom.
I transition into the best version of myself.
And when winter comes and
withers me away- I come
back again, each version better than the last.
You are the curator to the
garden of my soul- I will
always appreciate your decision to choose me
to plant as your beautiful garden.
