Hot Rod Girl

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO
CARS THESE DAYS?
THEY SURE AREN'T BUILT
THE SAME AS YESTERDAYS

WHAT YOU SEE ON THE ROAD
IS NOTHING MORE THAN A PLASTIC MOLD
THERE IS NO WAY TO
COMPARE TO THE OLD

THEY USED TO HAVE CLASS
A CERTAIN KIND OF FLARE
YOU REMEMBER LIKE A
55 CHEVY BEL-AIRE

HOT RODS ARE....
TOUGH, LOUD, AND MEAN
CARS TODAY SOUND
LIKE SEWING MACHINES

67 MUSTANG, 68 CAMARO,69 SUPER BEE,
JUST TO NAME A FEW
OR 70 CHEVELLE, 72 CUDA
DON'T FORGET 66 CHEVY NOVA II

THOSE CARS SIMPLY
CAN'T BE BEAT
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT
WHEN THEY CRUISE DOWN THE STREET

A HOT ROD GIRL IS
WHAT I WILL ALWAYS BE
A LOVER OF THE TRUE BLUE
AMERICAN STREET MACHINE

This Much

This Much

this much I need and a bit more
a smiling face to go with the knock at my door
the wind that blows and the snow that falls
childrens laughter echoing down the halls
a rose in bloom beside the garden path
a robin sitting upon the edge of the bird bath
a dear friend to drop by and sit
to share sweet memories for a bit.

this much I need and a little more
sometimes things are worth asking for
a comrade to be near, to learn to face my fears
to speak of folks with kind words
tell the good things we have heard
the comfort of family and friends
to cherish the time with them you spend
hope that these things never end

this much I need and so much more
                 I crave, I hunger, I long for
                 I need a house, I need a warm fire
                 whatever else I may desire
to have a special someone in my heart
pray we are strong enough that we don't fall apart
a bit of food to eat, a good book to read
hope it's not to much to ask, this much I need

Will You

WILL YOU

                                WILL YOU KISS ME
                                 SOFT AND SLOW
                                WILL YOU DANCE WITH ME
                               IN THE CANDLELIGHT GLOW

                               WILL YOU WRAP YOUR ARMS
                                 AROUND ME TIGHT
                               HOLD ME CLOSE ALL THOUGH
                                 THE NIGHT

                                WILL YOU LOVE ME
                                LIKE NO ONE ELSE CAN
                                SHOW ME HOW PROUD
YOU ARE TO BE MY MAN

                                WELL YOU HELP TO
MAKE ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE
                                 MAKE ME BELIEVE
                                  AND TRUST IN YOU

                                  WILL YOU PROMISE NEVER TO
                                   BREAK MY HEART
OR LEAVE ME AND TEAR MY
                                   WORLD APART

                                  WHEN THE END IS NEAR
AND GOD SAYS ITS TIME TO GO
                                   WILL YOU KISS
                                   SOFT AND SLOW

Letting Go

LETTING GO

THERE COMES A TIME
YOU WILL KNOW
THERE IS NOTHING LEFT
YOU HAVE TO LET GO

DON'T STAND AROUND
SAYING MAYBE I SHOULD WAIT
CAUSE THIS PERSON
YOU DON'T WANT TO HATE

BEING ALONE IS EVERYONES
GREATEST OF FEARS
SO IT'S OK IF YOU
SHED ALL THOSE TEARS

ALL THE MEAN THINGS YOU
HAD TO SAY
JUST SAVE IT ...IT
WON'T TAKE THE HURT AWAY

LET THE ICE AROUND
YOUR HEART MELT
LOOK AT THEM AND REMEMBER
THE LOVE YOU ONCE FELT

THER'S NOTHING ELSE YOU
CAN DO
STAYING WOULD JUST MAKE
THINGS A DARKER SHADE OF BLUE

IT'S SOMETHING THAT
YOU BOTH KNOW
THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME
YOU HAVE TO LET GO

Me and You

ME AND YOU

GOD MADE ME
GOD MADE YOU
THEN SAID....
ONE DAY TOGETHER
THEY SHALL BE

GOD HANDED YOU YOUR LIFE
GOD HANDED ME MINE
THEN SAID......
IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME
BUT EACH OTHER THEY WILL FIND

GOD WATCHED OVER ME
GOD WATCHED OVER YOU
THEN SAID.........
SOON THEY WILL BE READY
FOR THE LOVE THAT'S TRUE

GOD PUSHED ME YOUR WAY
GOD PUSHED YOU MINE
THEN SAID.....
I HAVE DONE ALL I CAN DO
THE REST IS UP TO THE TWO OF YOU

GOD PLACED HIS HAND ON ME
GOD PLACED HIS HAND ON YOU
THEN SAID.......
DON'T WORRY I SAVED A SPECIAL PART
JUST FOR THE TWO OF YOU IN EACH OTHERS HEARTS

Because of You

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TEARS I HAVE CRIED
BECAUSE OF YOU
THE LIFE I WANTED WAS NOTHING BUT LIES
BECAUSE OF YOU
ALL THE DREAMS I ONCE HAD DIED
BECAUSE OF YOU
MY WORLD HAS FELL ALL APART
BECAUSE OF YOU
I FEEL FAR FROM SMART
BECAUSE OF YOU
ALL I HAVE NOW IS A BROKEN HEART
BECAUSE OF YOU
THERE IS NOTHING ANY ONE CAN DO OR SAY
BECAUSE OF YOU
I CANT FIND ANYTHING TO MAKE THE PAIN GO AWAY
BECAUSE OF YOU
I COULD CARE LESS IF I SEE ANOTHER DAY
BECAUSE OF YOU

True Friends

MANY THINGS HAVE COME AND GONE
OVER THE YEARS
WE HAVE HAD MANY LAUGHS
AND SHED MANY TEARS

WE HAVE HAD SOME GOOD TIMES
AND WE HAVE HAD SOME TOUGH
BUT YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE
BY ME WHEN TIMES GOT ROUGH

I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT IN THE WORLD
I WOULD EVER DO
IF FOR SOME REASON
I EVER LOST YOU

SOME FRIENDS COME AND GO
AND SOME ALWAYS REMAIN
NO MATTER IF I CHANGED SOME
OR IF I STAYED THE SAME

OVER THE YEARS YOUR FRIENDSHIP
HAS PROVED SO MANY THINGS
THAT YOU WILL STAND BESIDE ME
WHAT EVER LIFE BRINGS

A TRUE FRIEND WILL ALWAYS BE THERE
NO MATTER WHAT THE CASE
AND YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE THAT
NO MATTER WHAT I HAD TO FACE

I HOPE AND PRAY YOU TRULY
KNOW HOW IMPORTANT YOU ARE TO ME
AND THAT IF I DIDN'T HAVE YOU
FOR MY FRIEND I DON'T KNOW WHERE I'D BE

PLEASE ALWAYS KNOW THAT
WHATEVER COMES YOUR WAY
I WILL BE HERE FOR YOU
UNTIL MY VERY LAST DAY

How Life Goes

how life goes

One summer day at the creek
                           thats where it all began
what memories I have to keep
you were a boy longing to be a man
I knew right from the start
it wouldn't take long for you to win my heart
so many dreams to me you sold
forever to have and to hold
but forever is a long time
you not coming home one night was no crime
there is no way to really know
it just meant I need to go
the house was empty and cold
how did I know? some one must have told
you never dreamed it would come to this
it started with just a kiss
                           she was just a fling
                           she means nothing
                           thats what you say
but I don't see it that way
                           we see this quite differently
the one that meant nothing was me
