Under the Chestnut Tree

And here I am under your majestic embrace
Giving into what your nature shares
Wondering why you need those spiky pods
Is it to protect what you treasure most?
When autumn comes you then let it go.

I too have my spiky pods
Holding on, not wanting to let go.
Keeping safe my inner soul.
As the leaves changes I hold my breath
And realise that I am autumn past.

Guitar Delight

A guitar has six string and if you play it right
Outbursts of harmony are ever so bright
Your music was always so tenderly right
Even with your hands so fragile you put up a fight
I shall always remember that warm summer night
You reconquered your instrument, what a sight
I prefer not to remember you with all your plight
Now as I wait till moment we reunite
You for me shall always be guitar delight

Became

Give me hope give me joy
Give me peace give me laughter
Or all of the above
No he said.
I shall give you destruction and tears
I shall give you conflict and pain
Enough I said.
Now that I see the hurt is slipping away
And what he gave me was all of these things.
The good the bad the beautiful the ugly
And here we stand holding hands
Looking at each other from where we began
What should we take and what should we leave?
We look into our eyes and in choir we say;
Let’s take it all because that’s how we became…
