Eternity Or Finate

We promised each other an eternity, whether we wilt or decay in the midst of what time becomes to be. We hold each other's pinkies under the moonlit sky breaking apart into radiant shards of warm-hued diamonds. As luminous as fire, passion, and light, we cross our hearts and kiss, igniting what appears to be love. As children we were, love was never-ending. It was delicate as butterflies and comfortable like spring, sweeter than sugar, and brighter than stars, we were no less than two flames never apart. Like a child, I believed in love, never fully understanding the means of devotion or dying attachment. Whether we fade into the abyss of eternity or dive into the depth of old years, we promised each other an eternity. We laughed under the moonlit sky and held our pinkies.

Broken promises,
eternity is finite.
Our love was fleeting.

Confrontation

As rain puddles the ground,
tatter-tatter falls the sound.
It climbs up railings
and flows through the streets.
And here we are in the rain.
Side by side and alone,
almost like we would be blown.
The wind howls,
louder than owls,
and we're forced to look each other in the eye
barely about to cry.
I ask you what you want again,
but I feel so drained.
You tell me that you're in pain,
but only because you want the gain,
of using your powers to put me in wane.
I scream and yell,
wailing like hell,
and leave you in the rain,
as rain puddles the ground.

The Result of Curiosity

I am infatuated with curiosity,
like when Pandora opened the box.
I want to know everything,
whether it's above or beyond.
I need to know something,
whether it's morbid or wrong.
I feel like a song,
spoken and sung in beautiful caws.

I want to see what the world has to offer,
penny or dimes or a bundle of books.
I want to feel like I'm dancing on clouds,
unafraid and unworried of thunderclouds.
I feel the warmth of the sun,
glowing against my sun-kissed skin.
I see the trees dancing to the wind
and the people laughing and howling.
I want to join the fun,
however, I'm too stunned.

I know what the world offers,
more than a penny or dimes or a buddle of books.
Vast amount of knowledge hidden in Mother Earth.
No one told me the fate of love,
torn and hatred tearing it apart.
Darker than caves,
and not more brighter than small glimpses of light rays.
It's despicable the word of love,
shown to be magical in books and fairytales.
What a lie it must be to children who believe in its schemes.

I am infatuated with curiosity,
more than a mystery box.
I already know everything,
all above and beyond.
I already know something,
so morbid and wrong.
I feel so lost,
knowing the love I lost.
