The Elements of Love

My love for you is like fire
It burns with such an intensity
It warms you on the coldest night
And gives light were there is none

My love for you is like water
It gives life to the lifeless
It quenches your thirst
With it, life is everlasting

My love is like air
It is as cool as a summer’s breeze
With it your soul can take flight
And soar on wings for an eternity

My love for you is like the earth
It is the center of existence
And in the end it will linger

My love for you remains constant and true
It has the ability to move mountains
There's no limit to where my love can go
My love is always here, it is never-ending and I give it willingly

Give It a Chance

So you value me as friend
But I see you’re having second thoughts again
Why can’t I be an exception
One that’s immune to your old perceptions

You’re trying to see something that isn’t there
But you already know that isn’t fair
For what you see before you is unlike any other
You’ve seen the outside, do you choose not to look further

Step closer and look into my soul
For what you see, isn’t a black hole
It is the purest kind of light
One that would keep you warm on the coldest of nights

To trust isn’t a must; it’s all up to you
Is to let me in really a sin
If so, I must go

What are you so afraid of…betrayal
Take a deep breathe….exhale
For I am a saint
And best believe you can take that to the bank

So what would it take to change your mind
For you to see my heart is kind
Will you take my hand and be my friend
Or have we come to a dead end

To My Friend

There’s something about your personality
That’s has me quite intrigued
I try and find a thought
But it’s one I can’t conceive

I think of you more than I actually should
I’ve developed these feelings for you
Though some still misunderstood
I wish you’d help me understand them
I really wish you could

The sight of your name gives me butterflies
The sound of your voice gives me chills
Just the mere thought of your touch
And my nerves can stand still
I am drawn to you
Like a moth to a flame
I try to resist
But the ending is always the same

I try to reason with myself
But I can’t hear over the beating of my heart
Or it may be other feelings
And I can’t tell them apart

I know what I’m saying isn’t right
But I can’t help the way I feel
The idea of you in my head
Continues to spin like a wheel

I don’t know if I should be telling you
What I feel inside
I figure it would be best to let them out
But I really can’t decide

I hope this doesn’t make you think less of me
What I’ve told you thus far
I hope it doesn’t change
How things between us are

It's Ok

We all make mistakes
And that is ok
We must continue to keep pushing
No matter what comes our way

Sometimes we do and say things
And we aren’t aware
But know that you can be forgiven
Therefore there’s no need to despair
So pick yourself up and dust off that grime
Because we’re all human
And that is not a crime
