A Perfect Date

Shooting stars gliding across their stage, the sky
silver sparks against a midnight blue
a boat carrying us across the gentle ripples of the lake
little sprays of water showering us
the air adding to our conversations
the soft whistle of its coolness
enveloping our bodies in an embrace
a lone candle contrasting the pools of moonlight
casting shadows of gold on our faces
lit up by jokes and laughter
An orchestra of frogs and birds
singing offkey in unison
and water lilies with their
blooms open listening to our conversations
Both of us sitting face to face
our hands holding symbolizing a tryst
and finally a beautiful symphony playing
out of a small music box

Alphabetical Love

Anecdotes all arousing my head
breathless begging to be your best
carefully caressing your caramel skin
ditching the deep ditches of dolor
enveloping the ever-present eerie aura
faithfully faking the smile on my face
glamorizing the greatness of giving
helping the halos of doubt in my head
idolizing your individuality and independence
joking about jumbled thoughts creating a jittery feeling
kites of your kindness kindling a wind
loving every little thing you do
memorizing the many lines on your memorable face
not caring about nefarious nettles that pierce me
ornating odysseys of our past
picturing a perfect picture of us play
questioning why I ever had quixotic questions
rising ricochets of rampant tears
setting sails of the ship of our love
touching thoughts twisting in the air
utilizing every unexpected moment we have together
vacillating the value of valor
wandering eyes over the warm waters of your eyes
xenial relationships and the feel of your xilinous skin
yearning for the youngblood of yesterday
zoning into zeniths of zeal

Helplessly In Love

The feathers of your insights brush my lips
sending jolts of electricity through my rusted veins
Your condescending glance sends the glass shattering
raining down shards of misfortunes down whoever questions you
domes of innocence create buildings of unfaltering love
always never looking at the negative side of things
no matter what you do
Your stare is enough to tear the sky apart
and bring down a hail of mishaps to follow the ones who did you wrong
Everything you do is like a fascinating movie
which my eyes are glued to
I've grown to memorize every wrinkle in your face
and perfectly mirror your emotions
I became your puppet unknowingly
Doing everything for your satisfaction
The air is better at picking up hints than me
it tries to drop some by sending a shiver down my spine
but of course, I pay no heed
You keep growing poison trees in my orchard
But I've turned blind to them
I watch you slowly killing me inside
but I'm too helpless to do anything about it

I'Ll Drift Back To You Like the Waves In the Sea

let's ferment the stars with sulfur rain
mix in the spirit of the alluring galaxy
an intoxicating blend of moon glaze and sundew

drunk on stars waltzing on the rings of Saturn
adorning our pale stories with sapphire-encrusted necklaces
placing asteroids as bookmarks between our happiest moments
to highlight the fights in our journey to space

bathed in golden light swimming through crystalline waters
mixing in azure to our bland cocktail blend
watching glass get engulfed in clouds of blue and shells
only wading in the surface- too nonchalant to dive in deep

climbing emerald vines, adorned with ruby fruits
the fruit of our love untouched,
safe from the heartbreak-hungry predators
seeing the stars drawn by us in the night sky

I'll drift back to you like the waves in the sea
remember the constellations we mapped out in our midnight dreams
keep you in my heart encased in a golden star
be the winds of change in your life
cause I'd rather die than not be part of your life...

Vessel of Love

The winds of my heart
set sail to the ships of love
it may end up as a wreck at the bottom of the tranquil blue
obstacles may try to sink the ship
like the storms of arguments that arise
A tidal wave of demons may try to engulf you whole

The winds of change try to steer the direction of your life
to take you to a different island of hope

You may end up at your destination
the "x" of the treasure map
But if you sink just try again with a different ship
a stronger more unassailable ship
Check if your treasure map if its right
don't be fooled by the fog that hangs in the ocean air
threatening to pull you back into the dark depths of the ocean

When We Were Young

Narrow sidewalks over which we used to balance over
pretending it was a bridge that held all our hopes and dreams
Chasing butterflies on our little bare feet over the dew-kissed grass
hoping they would take us to secret lands of desire
Hearing the deafening roar of planes
and twisting our necks so quickly they might just snap
to look at the flying creature
hoping one day we'll fly too
with wings strong enough to take us to the universe
now those wings have holes in them caused by the disasters of the world
Those days when we thought our parents were all-knowing deities who weren't scared of anything
only to realize now they're just like us who put on a mask to hide their true souls
Thinking that all the clouds embodied some object or the other
and when they moved so did our imagination
now my imagination dead lying like a corpse in the corner of my room
and that the man who lived on the moon disappeared every fortnight
to cast a magic spell on all of us
That the seeds we accidentally swallowed would grow into magnanimous trees in our stomachs
instilling fear in our minds about the smallest of things
Wishing on dandelions hoping that are impossible dreams come true
Only to realize fairytales were all wrong
and that everyone doesn't get a happy ending
Everything seemed so simple when we were young
when we didn't know the real face of the world
when all the things we knew were nice
and no evil existed at least according to us
where we lived in a world of complete ignorance
yet curious about all the little things we saw
please take me back to those beautiful chapters of my life
rewind them so my mind can relax and be serene
instead of the constant panic it is in now

True Love

True love makes your heart bleed through its weeping cuts
and makes you want to patch up the holes with affection
It makes you wish you never existed
to have to go through moral dilemmas every day
it makes you want to scream with all of your might
with the energy that your soulmate gave you
it isn't true unless it makes you wish you were alive and dead at the same time
you're so in sync it could marvel at synchronized swimmers
swimming in deep pools of passion
It isn't true love unless it causes you pain
and immense joy at the same time
It makes lying in bed looking at the stars so fun
something that you would get tired of in a few seconds if you were alone
It makes you have a perfect puzzle piece for your broken soul
but sometimes perfection isn't everything
And when you have to leave
the memories that you carried will keep playing on like a movie
through the sad, happy, and intense parts
making you wish you never had to leave
They'll always be a part of you,
whether you decide to move on or stay the same mellowing in your sorrow.
