Gentle Innocence

Have you ever watched a child sleep
The Innocence that radiate from their little faces
It's enough to make you weep

What dreams that must float through their brilliant minds
The Magic, the place
Or maybe it's a faery spell of a gentler kind
One that shows them the things that we as grown ups cannot see

I lay a wake and watch him dream
I watch as his eye lids flutter
I watch a peaceful smile glides gently across his tiny face
Oh how I wish to be in that same place
Where that gentle innocence fills you with such a warm embrace.

A Wish From Home

Dreaming, Hoping, Longing
I look to the moon with a prayer on my heart
Awaiting the return of my better part

Hand cramping, Tears streaming
Is this one finally worth believing
The man, the soldier whose loving words stole my heart
You've etched them in to my soul
With you in my life I finally feel whole

Please my sweet soldier come home
The radio plays all the songs
The ones that show our support
With wishes of you all coming home
I find myself staring at the sky
With a watchful eye
Though I cannot help but sing along
Please my sweet soldier come home

I love you, I pray for you
I wish to be in your arms
Please my sweet soldier come home

A Soul's Dream

You ask to where my thoughts drift away
It is the land where faeries play
The place where dreams take flight
Where the silver moon is the only light
It guides the elves that dance under the starry night

It is the land where childhood dreams Run free
Where Snowy unicorns race along the sea
The one and only place where pain and Sadness can't reach me

Unknowns of Love

Quiet shivers, exploding from head to toe
Pulses quicken, heart's race
Each crawling out of their own skin
Wanting, longing to touch,
But too scared of what comes next

Unknowing, unsure, no words to cure
Every sensation, every spark, filling up the dark
One moment everything bare,
By a kiss that would dare
Passion and fear, all things made clear

Where they go from here,
Is the question that remains
A question left unsaid
Unanswered for only the heavens to know
Where they will go

A fond embrace, the close of a door,
What happens next no one knows for sure
