Julia Collins Poem
Buoys bounce up and down,
crashing waves make a sound
Seagulls fly away from here,
with your spirit staying near
Unmarked islands hold our secrets,
unknown memories lay beneath us
Tan marks and forgotten thoughts,
wanting to leave - I think not
Running streams and worn leaves,
pair less shoes near empty booze
Each one takes a slot,
making my breath simply stop
In pause, wanting to press rewind,
For now the sunset guides my mindless mind

Julia Collins Poem
A 3,000 mile distance, A six hour plane ride
No place to run but a 4x4 hiding container,
full of generic tampons and cheap toilet paper
Left with nothing but the truth to face
The sorrowful clouds ready to burst, eventually
emitting drops of serenity and colors of gray
Hating the past, and dreading the dismal future
of fake tears and loneliness that lie ahead
Pain, drawn closer with every eager site seen missing
Faith, diminishing faster with every breath released
The runway abruptly marks a new beginning
Hope, rushing back with every holding memory that
once was
Finally, eagerness controls most emotions that
were seemingly disturbed, and past wishes still
have some hope of becoming a reality
