Dante the Daring Feline

High upon the fridge was he.
A handsome ebony cat hides secretly.
He awaits the perfect prey.
Dante lays with one eye open all day.
His dark fur hiding him in the shadows atop the fridge ,no one dare see!
Swoosh opens the front door and in comes a fly.
He awakens spotting the intruder with his one open eye.
A sudden flip sends him out through the air.
His shiny dark coat on radar for a chair.
So funny to watch him land on the fly.
I laughed so hard until I just cried!

Soul Adrift

A jubilant tenacious boy harmonizes melodiously along.
He continues smiling often to everyone with an open heart.
Passing times dotage, him proudly akin to the sweetest song.
Growing into a tall strong man, the world is his bounty he can have it all.
Darkness overstretches a dirty hand to this once blissful boy.
Rather than to pursue a dream of anything possible, the man does fall.
The light of hope shines in the corner for him to pursue.
One can wish upon the stars for strong boy to become the strong man and find joy.

Mister's Cat

He said he never liked any cat.
I always knew far different than that.
Kikipoo was her name.
He looked at other cats with silly shame.
She always slept in his bed.
Kikipoo was always well fed.
I can recall him telling she is a cat.
He always felt she was somehow better than that.
They lived together for so many years.
When her passing came..
He shed many tears.
He now is up there somewhere too.
I know he is sleeping with Kikipoo.
