We Are Free

We are free to move our bodies
To the streets we’ll move our feet
Arm and arm and hands together
In the world we’re sure to meet
When the news comes down upon us
And the truth becomes so clear
We are free and liberated
This is sovereignty my dear
We can dance and move together
All the smiling faces shown
For divided we came together
A new unity is known.

Remember

“Remember who you are”
The words echo through the chambers of my mind.
Seeking a corner in which the answer may lie.
If we could only remember
Clarity skirts and hides behind shadows
With a teasing flicker of hope
She escapes
Why must we forget to remember?
A power so intense it must remain hidden from us
Taught to us by dualistic examples
Referencing a hidden truth of wholeness
The tangibility of who you are
Just beyond reach
Grasping, we stretch ourselves
Growing tired
Trying to know
Rest now
Pause
Take a breath
Allow
Flow
It is here the answer will embrace you
It is here the answer may only live
It is here that you remember
It is here
Where you are.

The Poet

The heart of a poet bleeds a certain kind of crimson
It seeps through layers, making its way into the folds.
The blood of a poet occupies the dark caverns,
It lays to rest upon places most will never gaze.

The soul of a poet flies on the backs of the eagles,
It entertains in the furthest reaches of the cosmos.
The spirit of the poet steps inside the hidden spaces,
It lurks behind shadows listening to the world expand.

The mind of a poet dances between the lines,
It insists there is more than one tale to tell.
The brain of the power creates bridges that help connect dots,
It remembers and creates all at once.

The body of the poet sits behind a gaze focused on the unseen,
It is the vessel through which it observes.
The vessel of the poet must be nourished and protected,
It records the mysteries and messages of the universe.

Shattered

Wrapped in karmic glass
We shatter when we hit the ground
But oh!
What’s this inside?
A precious gem is found.
