Graham Oakford Poem
Tent pegs, burnt legs
Sun cream, ice cream
Swimming trunks, squashed lunch
Peeling tum, after sun.
Dusty feet, collapsing seat
Folding table, electric cable,
Sleeping pods, fishing rods
Guide ropes foreign notes.
Ground sheet, birds tweet.
Wind break, tent shake
Top box midnight fox
Sweeping floor, rubbish torn
Barbecue, dodgy loo,
Gritty toes, runny nose
Flip flops dirty tops
Backpack rucksack
Gas ring, bee sting
Bug spray, all day
Camping Gaz, not last
Airbed enough said
Glowstick picnic
Washing up, worst luck
Beard grown, photos shown
Journey home, money blown

Graham Oakford Poem
Friends come and friends go, but some stay through life’s flow
Those are the ones to keep close to your heart, it doesn’t matter how long you’re apart
It’s always the same no matter how long, you start talking through the years, life’s song
Knowing someone though and through, a shoulder to lean on, someone to talk to.
They’d drop what they’re doing to help you out, all you have to do is text ring or shout
They’d give what they have if you’re ever in need, on a different level from others a different breed
You have disagreements, discussions debates, but you never leave angry, always stay mates
A good bit of banter can lighten the mood, they don’t take offence even when it’s rude
My best mate I know will always be there, ready for action, trustworthy fair
They’ll give you a laugh on a night on the town or cheer you up when you’re feeling down

Graham Oakford Poem
Just one pint in a cosy warm pub
Keep us away from the family we love
Just one more pint - the evening won’t end
The time you have a laugh with a friend
Just one more pint, a pint between mates
Talking about all our trophies and mistakes
Just one more pint, A pint for the road.
We start talking about secrets we’ve been told
Just one more pint relaxed and unaware
Of people were talking about standing right there
Just one more pint - We’ll put the world to right
Standing up for what we don’t really care about all through the night.
Just one more pint although the evening is young
We may try a nightclub too old for this fun.
Just one more pint and then the stumble home
Fingers too fat to type on the phone
Just one more pint- then we’ll call it a night
Stumbling back with fast food in sight
