Stanley Clayton Poem
A WANING SUN HAD SET THE SCENE
0N A DYING GRAVEYARD ALL SERENE
BUT MOULD AND DECAY HAD HAD ITS WAY
IT LIVED AND THRIVED WHEN ALL HAD DIED
LIFES A LIFELONG VIRTUAL DREAM
ON A UNIVERSAL TIME MACHINE
INITIALISED BY A BABIES CRY
EXPIRING IN UNTIMELY DEATH
ECHOING ONE LONG LAST LINGERING BREATH
AND IN BETWEEN THESE TIMELY SCENES
A FLEDGLING SOULS WASTED DREAMS
AN ETERNITY OF LIFE LIES THERE
CLOAKED IN A REALM OF DESPAIR
TIME HAD TIME ENOUGH TO SCHEME
AND TIME HAS TIME TO DECIDE
AN UNTIMELY DEATH FOR THOSE WHO DIED
THE DEVILS DARKNESS SWEPT AWAY
THE FADING LIGHT OF A DYING DAY
TO CONCEAL THE SCENE OF MILDEWED GREEN
MOSS PAINTED STONES AND GRAVEYARD BONES
IN AGED VANDALISED DECAY
DAYS WANING LIGHT SEDUCED THE NIGHT
TO CHASE AWAY THE DYING LIGHT
CLINGING TO THE GRAVEYARD STONES
OF MILDEWED MOSS AND BLACKEND BONES
WHAT BRINGS ME HERE
TO A PLACE SO DREAR
WITH ITS MOULD AND DECAY
LIVING AND DYING AWAY
ITS SURVIVING AND THRIVING
WHEN ALL ELSE IS STRIVING
TO HIDE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION AWAY
TIL RESURRECTION DAY
WHENTHE TRUMPETS EXPEL
EVERYONE FROM THEIR CELL
TO SPRING CLEAN ITS SUCH A DISGRACE
I WOULDNT BE SEEN DEAD IN THE PLACE
THE INMATES WERE ALL KEEN
TO JOIN IN THE SCHEME
AND WITHOUT ANY MOANS
ABOUT ACHING BONES

Stanley Clayton Poem
Acrosss the timeless realms of space
The battered starship streaks
Spitting forth its probing beams
To trace the human signs it seeks,
Left by the sons of sons of previous ones
Far in the ancient past
To find and colonise a world
So the human race would last
But with fuel so low it did,nt show
With all their hope deminished the saga was finished
But the returning gleam from a reflected beam
That returning blip now steered the ship
To a world with a trace of a human race
With the return of belief and joys of relief
The crew set to land and renew
Frendly relations with this long lost race
And replace them with a human trace
But the first expedition that had been before
Had taught the natives to question more
To build a pyramid and realise
Its the only way to the heavenly skies
And live again in paradise.
So Adam and Eve lived a life of ease
To do as they please
and to mate with a local ape and create
a humanoid
