Lovelorn

Could it be the state of tranquility
Despite the times they are being loquacious
Or this event of serendipity
For meeting this person quite so gracious

Is it his presence is a sweet lagniappe
Or their bond that caused an epiphany
The fact his absence feels like a cold snap
That her feelings are a polyphony

It’s personality in plethora
Which is refreshing just like petrichor
That sets off in her mind an aurora
Depicting sensations of her ardour

It’s that he treats her with delicacy
That sets off these great feelings blossoming
She puts words to them with hesitancy
For her fear of the others gossiping

She hides in a place abyssopelagic
To veil that he is her panacea
As if emotions will leave like magic
Is that not just the dumbest idea

Who’s she kidding they are diaphanous
A statement that she says with some languor
Practicing a great deal of ascesis
When really they should be allowed to soar

But he gives a place of felicity
A place some might say is just limerence
A thing that is quite the duplicity
She knows that she can see the difference

Her affection can appear galactic
But to her it is just a silhouette
Perhaps giving her an ataractic
Will dim her down and she’ll cause less upset

To him she is just incendiary
An explosive she is the quintessence
A fact becoming evidentiary
In it exhibiting its fluorescence

She wished for a soothing elixir
They sent her a voice so mellifluous
However it’s not his job to fix her
Whilst she is in this state of pensiveness

And now she senses a quadrivium
There is an insight into her psyche
She is praying for her elysium
For her own life to end in syzygy

I Can Stay In the Light

Don’t call me obsessed
Whilst I’m waiting for his message
Lonely and distressed
Staring at my phone

Don't call me haunted
That he can’t return my feelings
Purely exhausted
Burning on my own

And I want you to find someone
Who’ll love you like I do
Who thinks about you always
Someone who cares for you
And I know it will break me
But sweets that’s alright
As long as we are near
I can stay in the light

Don’t call me deluded
When the jealousy takes over
My feelings have eluded
The chambers of my heart

And I want you to find someone
Who’ll love you like I do
Who thinks about you always
Someone who cares for you
And I know it will break me
But sweets that’s alright
As long as we are near
I can stay in the light

Don’t you worry darling
I can stay in the light

Solivigant

She has fought feelings like soldiers at war
Revering him in a quiet dark place
In reticence she carries the torch for
This man who has set her heart at fast pace

Throughout their time they have traversed a trip
A long trek causing such veneration
He has grasped her heart with a vice like grip
Which she feels in times of separation

The force of this love sets her soul on fire
Her default mode is programmed to adore
Her adulation causing such haywire
All as a result of this girl’s candour

Her worship spreads like waves of the ocean
Drowning in her need to deify him
Stifling him with consuming devotion
Her idolisation full to the brim

Intoxicated by this man so sweet
Mind altering he is much like a drug
Their time together she feels is a treat
Doesn’t care she’s infected with love bug

Perhaps he feels there’s no means to escape
The pure whirlwind that is this mindless girl
But when your mind has undergone reshape
There’s no choice but to let feelings unfurl

Giving her heart has been much like a dream
She realises that she was starving
Idealisation through her bloodstream
A new path she has found herself carving

So he should realise he makes her whole
A mere truth she knows in her very soul

Glorious Perception

The real you underneath
The tumour hiding beneath the surface
Secreting poison into the blood
Toxin controlling every motivation
The knife should cut the malignancy out
Hide it under the rug
Mould the clay and be reborn anew
No one has to know
Accomplishments aplenty throughout life
The gold, the glory has never shined bright enough
Shined bright enough to cleanse the shame
Patchwork of moss concealing the truth
Others behaving in this way would be put to the pyre
Burnt away
Sacrificed as an offering to self happiness
Lies
So desperate for affection they would tolerate just about anything
In the distance people thinking the world of them
They will not notice
It does not make sense
The soundproof box a sanctuary
The blindfold a choice
What is real and what is not?
When the shadows descend and the whispers are all around
They imagine the dark
The light switched off by their own doing
The self loathing necessary to function
They would forget themselves
The fear they would feel nothing at all without it
But the greatest mistake of all is believing the mistake is them
This stranger, this alien who does not belong in this world
Their error the denial that someone may genuinely love them
Their self worth
Their beauty
Only depicted in the mirror of another gentle soul

Mood

Angels bright call dangerously,
Eventually fulfilling grave harrowing ideas.
Jarring kindness lies masking now,
Otherworldly persons quietly respond.
Silent turmoil underneath volatile waters,
Xes your zest.
