Worst Enemy

Usually, I don't find the pen until I'm feeling blue,
But those who have come before me said I should write when I'm happy too,
Now at first impression, I didn't find this to be a difficult task,
Until I got to trying it and my words had no pizazz.
See, I had to throw that gesture in there just so you guys would laugh!!

But let's get back to the subject at hand,
The one where I thought I was truly a happy man.
, why wouldn't I be?
I mean I've been this way since I was a boy...
I'd even find a way to smile when I got the girl happy meal toy.
And for someone who's motto is "everything you do in life is a choice"
I can't figure out why when I choose to call on my happiness,
Do I always hear back from an unhappy voice?

Hmm, well let's see if we can go back to the source,
Back when mom was bumpin lauryn in the Ford Explorer,
Ahh, yes, this is where my happiness was full force.
Memories of mom and only glimpses of dad,
First red flag to signal that this boy here is sad.
Now let's move onto signal number two,
When the boy gets used to people who say and never do.
Like "didn't you say you were gonna take me to..."
"Hold on, hold on, boy... can't you wait til this conversation through?
If you ask me again we ain't going nowhere, so go'on now shew!!"
Word? You just gonna shrug me off? I was supposed to be your little dude!!
But now I'm older, the tables done turned, and if I do the same, it's considered being rude?

Haha.. man... life can be funny you see?
How? Ohh, well...
I'll show you in just a second as we approach flag number three.
Life is funny because it's just a globe filled with illusions.
You got some people that care to be in your life,
and others who are just making intrusions,
with the direct or indirect goal to cause confusion, exclusion
Using their meaningless words to fill you up with what proved to be toxic gas,
Just doing no good for our issue of air pollution.
If you haven't figured it out yet, I have a void within me.
Look deep enough into said void, and you'll find flag number three.
Just sitting there, shining and about as vibrant as could be.
But don't stay there too long, or forever there is where you'll be.
And your screams of CANT ANYONE HEAR ME?!?!
Will echo throughout my chest, but will never break free.
Because as a boy turns a man he realizes no one else is to blame for what has happened to he,
And accepting these things about himself brings him closer to defeating his worst enemy.
Me.

Intimate Friends

Wtf is sex w/o communication
I mean I wish I could meet a shawty and have sex with no hesitation.

But the s**t don’t work for me you see.
I like it the way I see it done on the tv.

I talk to her she talk to me and we engage in each other actively.
Not knowing who I’m dealing with makes me go about this passively.

I mean, physicality always there but with the lack of verbal validity,
It makes my stomach turn as if I ate foods with too much acidity.
Bringing forth these questions and concerns is a quick way to get rid of me.

Rid; myself of these thoughts of what I didn’t do vs what I did.
They're pointless because I only act in according to the pyramid.

Or triangle.

Body, spirit, mind.

Without two of the three, you’ll surely be left behind
Yes, you can bet you’ll certainly be out of my mind,
And out of sight.

But if you change your mind,
Let me tell what’s going down tonight.

I know you into me but I’m trynna know the inner you,
Before I take this pleasure package out and deliver it into you,
It start making you wobbly,
No mortal kombat but your body saying to finish you,
And I’ll do just that my dear,
Like scorpion said “get over here”,
As I grab you by the waste,
I look into your face,
And I see you gasping for air and dropping a tear as I pull you near.
Ain’t no doubt It’s beautiful love making that we doing here.

Self Portrait

Be careful what you self portray.
When you in the mirror, you need to watch what you say.
Subconscious doesn’t know how to balance the vote,
When you speak negatively it pens a mental note.
Gotta shower yourself w/ love and in turn you will grow.
It’s the only proven way to survive these ebbs and flows.
