Understand

Sometimes you act as though you want to be with me,
And others you don't.
Sometimes you claim you know what I want,
And others you don't.
All I wish is for you to understand.

I wish you could see what I see,
I wish you could feel my feelings,
I wish you could hurt the way I hurt,
And I wish you would love me the way I love you!
but you can't because you don't understand!

A Wish

A penny in a wishing well,
A wish on a shooting star,
Blowing out cakes' candles
Hasn't worked so far.
Wishing you to come to me
I feel won't ever come true.
I gave up finally
On ever having you.
But this feeling of emptiness
Without you by my side
My heart is filled with sadness
And feeling I cannot hide.

Everytime

Everytime you look at me,
Your big, beautiful, blue eyes,
Just see right through me.
You know me better,
Than I know myself
Sometimes you act like your mine,
Than others you act like your not
I know you are not mine,
But all I wish is that you were!

A Chance With You

I know you are taken
But my love for you is true
The girl you're with
Is the luckiest girl
I ever knew
If she should ever break your heart,
And you feel all torn apart,
You know where I am.
I'll lend you my hand,
I'll pick up the pieces,
And I calm your heart.

The Chance Not Given

Your Brown hair
Your beautiful eyes
Just sends chills down my spine
The sight of you makes me weak
My hands quiver
And I cannont speak
I know I am not the only girl for you
I only wish I had a chance with you!

Second Best

I've been here before,
Being the last to know,
The first to be left,
The last he would,
Come back to,
Never realizing I am
Only second best.
I'd always wonder
Is he breaking up
With her today?
That's the price I pay
For being second best.
I cry in despair
And in hopes that
My broken heart will mend.
In hopes of never being,
Second best again!

Jerk

Who are you?
I thought I knew
I guess I didn't
You said you loved me
But the next day you denied it.
Why do you do this?
You mess with girl's heads
And then leave them confused.
Is it that someone dared you?
Or is it that you wanted me?
To me it seems like both.
Do you even know what you want?
Why can't you be the guy who stays?
Rather then the guy who fades away.
I think you hate rejection.
I think you should meet a girl who hates rejection too.
Or do you like hurting?
Or is it you can't stand being hurt?

Not Love

Love, I never knew what the word meant,
You acted as though you did,
But it ended up the same.
You claimed you loved me,
But I should have known,
You did not know what the word meant, either.
Everyone warned me,
That you would hurt me.
Did I listen, NO!
I should have though.
When you came into my life,
You brighten and lightend it.
When you first said "I Love You,"
I went weak in the knees,
And said it back.
Everytime we kissed I felt like I was floating in the clouds.
That is what I think love is,
But I guess that is not love!

Best Friends

Sometimes when I am depressed,
Or drowning in self-doubt.
I know I can call your name,
And you'll pull me out.
You taught me,
That I am worth much more,
Than what I'd always thought.
You gave me stregth,
And confidence,
That so long I had sought.
One day I will return to you,
All you have given me.
I don't know in what time or form,
But I promise soon you'll see.
For richer, for poorer,
In sickness, in health,
Through all thick and thin.
I trust I can always count on you,
And I am proud to call you a friend!
