The Resolution

THE RESOLUTION - Elex Williams 

New year, new transitions
A whole new edition
Full of new propositions
Forming of old and new coalitions
Some are prosperous
But others are just us wishin'
New standards and requisitions
Resurrections of retired ambitions
Staring over the horizons
At seemingly impossible inquisitions
Pressed the reset button on all competition
The incredible “what ifs...”
That haunted last year's missions
Here we go again with that same old tradition
Selling ourselves short without proper commission 
But only in a new rendition
Putting ourselves into suspicion

Time to alleviate the superstitions
Faith is a part of our addition
Mental wholeness and nutrition
Putting doubts and sins into remission 
And with your permission
I'd like to conclude this intermission
By hoping that what I wrote can help support intuitions
And I pray that many of our dreams come into fruition.

Once again, we are blessed to be back in this position...

Of My Prescription

I'm here to clarify 
My passions that I never defy 
Prescriptions of my essence
My drug is my vibe 
Addictions to what I do 
No cure to my being true 
My body is vacant of disease 
But my mind is filled with ease. 
Please loan me the keys 
To the vehicle that drives me to new degrees 

Classification of the medicine 
That stimulates the rate of my journey into heights of unknown reason 
Side effects occurring throughout my rhythmic balance
Alleviating limits to my talents...

Medicine for my membrane 
Into a realm that cannot be judged by biased rioters 
Looking to destroy my pleasant domain 
I'm jumping onto your train 
Of thoughts that maestros once sought 
Melody of milligrams multiplied to create 
Forces that prevent being distraught
Malevolent wars being fought 
The battles of good versus evil in your mind 
Everyday one of them is going to shine.

So true 
Indeed the power of good fights a gruesome battle everyday 
Warding off deceitful tendencies 
With angels and demons calling the play by play 
One of the two will always find a way 
To either ruin or make your day 
Some pills are harder to swallow than others 
Solving the conundrum of the potency of each one 
Can be a tedious task 
Good will allow you to bask 
In victories as evil is unmasked.
Temporary triumph over an enemy that reanimates every morning 
Into a new form 
A new challenge 
However, I do not flee because I haven't a choice 
But to respond to the war-call of my enemy's voice. 

Do not take your eye off of the confusion 
For we all know that confusion is the home of sin 
For we know that the 7 deadly are all kin 
Continue to fight the whim 
Remember sink or swim? 
I think I'll choose the latter 
In which life over death matters 
No more rehearsals once the show called life actually begins 
No curtains drop to cover you up 
Once you've stumbled through the lines of your part to play 
Know your role and execute your performance
Awaken that exceptional part of yourself 
Listen to the conformance.

I draw my sword 
Knighted on an oath to live 
And to succeed 
I'm an intricate breed 
A prototypical patriarch to my own existence 
The cure of common sense 
Flows through my veins 
Pumps through my heart 
And proceeds to my brain 
I can't take my life in vain 
Reasons for my pain 
Can't be comprehended by not only what the basic text books on living life can explain. 
My threshold for resistance to the storms is well-documented 
My resilience helps to absorb the dark rain 
That showers throughout my time; my reign. 

And my well collects the waters of life 
Each drop represents a trial 
A meaningful tribulation 
Of each inhabitant of my soul's inner nation. 
My citizens are the memories of destinies far and near 
I will walk through the shadows with no fear.
No barring of the passage of my right to live 
Sharing of myself with others with whom my friendship I choose to give.

This is the make-up of my prescription
My element of life
It's either a hit or it's a miss
My recipe for substantial bliss

One Of, Or One In a Million

I'm one of millions of what's called a wordsmith
Forging weapons of the sharpened tongue
Generating of hymns of brazen oaths that have yet to be sung
So I inhale thoughts
Filling every bit of my lungs
Ready to exhale wisdom of experiences
Watering of a garden full of knowledge seeds for the bell has been rung

Echoes of manifestation that only peace of mind can bring
I've purchased lifelong tickets, to this train of thought 
So it could never be just a fling
Far above being a peasant 
But I'm not trying to be the king
Been knighted under sworn oath to deflect the scorpion's sting

An alliance of factions, in my mind, once divided, but now in unison, they stand
Because it's the only way that opposing forces could not gain the upper hand
Sure, things may not always go as planned 
That's why there's a need to improvise within grains of life's sand
This song is far from over
So can we constantly strike up the band

So am I one of, or one in a million monikers of "wordsmith"?

Intuition

Brazen internal instructions
Leading to receding of mental obstructions
In the moment's abduction
And the foresight that is in construction
Finding clairvoyance in transcending of spiritual planes
Savoring the essence of every single grain
Of sands within the hourglass
Of happenstance unexplained
Blemishes in time truly stained
But it ultimately becomes beneficial wisdom to be gained...

Given my curiosity
Which is fueled by the ferocity
Of inquisitions about the universe
Quenching my mind's thirst
For acquiring intellectual bursts
To compose mayhem in every verse

However, one cannot even abbreviate
Or even constructively deviate
From the definition of it's true meaning 
A purpose for cleaning
Any thoughts that are cruel and demeaning
It's existence is very clear
Can't be broken down, for it it pure
With only messages to encourage or endear

Traveling Inwards

As a hastened flash soon becomes a wonder
Savoring of moments without concealing the thunder
No time to be passive or it might take you under
Crossing bridge after bridge without them ever burning
A rampant charge across and never concerning
While moving to a tempo, unrestricted, as you continue on learning
Instinctive marching forward, brilliantly shining
Singing songs of invincibility in the process of mining
For that inner gold
Perceived wealth beyond measure
A gathering of the most sacred treasure
Being the best at who you are should be your most genuine pleasure
Your destination is that blinding light, inside
In which no negative shadows can hide
No matter how hard they tried
Because it is where the purest illumination can reside...

So you're claiming you're from different breed 
I'm sensing high levels of dignity in that creed
For the journey of every tree begins with but a seed
The gentleman you seek will will be known for his deeds
A woman, in possession of those eyes, can only incline him to lead
Towards a powerful union
Of two souls, in which upon, the divine had genuinely agreed
Bringing out only the best in one another's need
For all captured emotions were handed the keys, and had been graciously freed...
