Roger Harp Poem
They say that life is unpleasant,
It's filled with more downs than ups,
But if you see the good in downs,
It'll be easier to stand back up.
They say that life is unfair,
Not all accomplish their dreams,
But if you can learn to except defeat,
It'll open doors to a whole swarm of things.
For if you stand on the sidelines,
Waiting for your day to come,
It's possible that you'll get lucky,
And then the ups will have a greater sum.
If you can see defeat,
As just another lesson in life,
The success that it can bring you,
Can turn the darkness into light.
Life is not overrated,
It's filled with all our hopes and dreams,
With just a little patience and dedication
Life can be whatever you want it to be.

Roger Harp Poem
Yesterday had to happen
For the clouds to move in today
Though the rain may come down later
Tomorrow's rainbow may lead the way
I can not stop the storms from coming
For God has a plan, all of his own
But I can change my view, to realize
It's ok to dance in the rain alone
If time is what we have in life
To cherish all with love
Then the days of gloom & muddy roads
Are also gifts given from he who loves
For a rainbow is never certain
But it could come all the same
Don't live for the dark and gloomy
For tomorrow's rainbow could forever stay

Roger Harp Poem
A profound urge to come home.
Some invisible force is making its, presence known.
I must act.
I cannot ignore this any longer,
I fear that if I postpone my journey,
I will be torn apart and discarded.
This entity has taken my sleep,
It continues to take my mind.
This all consuming force,
Will not be my undoing or unwind.
I shall leave at the lonesome hour, Maneuvering through the shadows,
Like a scavenger,
I've become lower than the rats,
That play at such late hours.
A perilous journey it may be,
For there is a great distance,
Between me and the sea.
Perseverance will overcome,
By the next full moon,
I'll be home.

Roger Harp Poem
I've listened to your twisted words
Of love with sound advice
And though I do agree with you
Still something isn't right
It's true this life is no rehearsal
And the stage is set for both
Who truly leads? Who truly follows?
When the script was never wrote
Maybe my play is a tragic one
And sorrow will always be
Maybe my heart longs for more
A romance by the sea
Maybe it's a lot more simple
Than the who, what, how, when, or then
But the soul is on the hunt for something
And I know not its plan.

Roger Harp Poem
I want to lay in your bed so soft
Pillow like clouds scattered above
You bring hope to the land of doubt
To share your happy tears
With the land of drought
Oh Fluffy white clouds above
Do you think my angels will teach me love
To share my kindness without a thought
Like you do when you wet the crops
You and I, we play our games
You make up shapes while I lay and gaze
I know they say your not alive
But I know you carry the fortress up high
Oh great marshmallow in the sky
Would you mind if I hitch a ride
To see the pearly gates
To see the earth through your eyes
To stop and visit the mountaintop
Your always wandering do you ever stop
"Oh fu"
Now I'm blue
The sun has risen
And there is no "YOU!"

Roger Harp Poem
The moonlight dances in her arms.
In her bossom, she holds the stars.
A mirrored image of the Cresent moon,
Where her seeded heart waits to bloom.
My fair lady of earth and wind,
Who let's the fire burn within.
She controls the time, before the dawn.
Dancing and singing her joyful songs.
Twinkle twinkle beautiful one,
Why are you frightened of the rising sun?
He sees your pain behind your smile,
The fear you hide,
Why it's all worthwhile.
The angels kissed your precious cheek.
The sun still looks for you,
But your never seen.
Pearl like diamonds,
Gems in the sea,
Close your beautiful eyes,
And it's him that you'll see.
A love that's everlasting,
That time cannot touch.
Loving him,
Is to love everyone.

Roger Harp Poem
A 4 leaf clover grows in the field
Never knowing that it's different.
God himself may have a plan
But the clover knows no difference.
So it grows along side the others
Content and happy to be alive.
Wrapped in love from the dew and sun
The clover grows to new heights.
Until the day it's plucked away
Then hidden from the light.
Its luck today has now been placed
In another precious life.

Roger Harp Poem
Life is like the ocean,
Vulnerability is your sail,
Hope is the wind that propels you,
To the land that's known so well.
Trees are made of stone and glass,
Stretching high up in the air,
Concrete paths replace the grass,
Their people have no fear.
They walk with all their might,
To a place they do not know,
Peddling their wired wheels,
To a destination untold.
To prosper is their glory,
Their shrines are built so tall,
To stand beneath the mortar,
One can feel a bit small.
Pay no mind to them in a rush,
Their always on the move,
Don't try to slow them down though,
They can be a little bit Rude.
I believe they truly mean well,
In the efforts that they make,
But only the old man in the desert,
Or the famous fortune teller,
Can make that claim.
So if you have a week or two,
And you want to see the sites,
You should raise your sail with glory,
So hope can blow you in tonight.

Roger Harp Poem
You gave me a box of darkness
Disguised as a heart of love
You locked my peace inside it
Then paraded for all the world

Roger Harp Poem
As the day drifts off to slumber
I lay awake to relive the day
So many memories in my head
Thoughts echoing good & bad
My mind begins combing through my scrapbook of memories, a picture book filled with some victories & defeats
"Hark! Could that be the voices from those who shared in my joy?" And the laughter from those who relished in the pain of my defeat
Thumbing through the pages one by one emotions invoke a smile, a simple pleasure, while reminiscing what I've accomplished & defeats I've overcome
A fleeting glimpse of a page not seen However I know this memory, its pursuit of re-creation is relentless in pace
A replica of that day, rebuilt by the precision of the mind
The air was cool, that morning in May, the trees were replacing what autumn took away
Gardenias, Dianthus, & Lantanas all there
Blossoms thriving in the cool crisp air
Observing myself through eyes that aren't mine, a stalking butler waiting to refill your wine. Passing by daisies, lilies pansies of all kinds, these are amazing thoughts that have filled my mind
I nod at a woman while passing a bench
She smiled a smile with such beauty & poise, God's perfection showed in her joy
Now sitting there motionless, so still,
Nose in a romance novel written by Steel
Now to the clearing where marble pillars were place, underneath the archway my lady in red, stands & waits
I thought our hearts were like magnets that pulled us both in. I would be the negative & she's without a doubt the positive.
Now comes the ending, here's how it all goes. I asked her to marry me, but she said no. This memory is not sad nor does it leave me in despair.
It's just a lesson in life, a memory that remains, it's kept in my picture book within my minds domain.
Sorry that I cut the ending a little to short, some of that memory was inappropriate, but you can imagine the same hot, juicy romance Steel wrote in her books.
