The Mirror of the Soul

Eyes peer in silence
They look
They investigate
They dig deep
and infinite
the mirror of the soul
In search of the essence
of an ego
That devoid of its veils
stripped
Without more masks
tries to escape
to reality
Then to hide
behind consciousness
of a life
now lived

When Everything Will Finish

Hope is said to be the last to die
and we in the hope of "When it will end"
we will fight for life
When it all ends ...
no more music, choirs of voices and songs on the balconies
but in squares, streets and other places
When it all ends ...
no more greetings, kisses and hugs now distant
but all united hand in hand in the great roundabouts
When it all ends ...
large wounds will remain open
of those who have fallen and got up
in the memory of what they have taken from us and of what we have lost
When it all ends ...
tears will wet our faces
for the many, many, too many who didn't make it
and they left us without our affections
When it all ends ...
never again will everything be the same
and we will look at the world with different eyes
When it all ends ...
we will imprint on us the beauty of life
thank goodness it's not over
When it all ends ...
maybe we will be a little different
but perhaps satisfied that they are no longer the same
When it all ends ...
we will get up and like warriors we will go on
no longer afraid of facing the arduous challenges
that until today have kept us so far apart

The Mask of Life

Life has given me
this mask that I wear
I hold her close to my face
and I recognize myself in her
When I’m sad
and thoughts torment the mind
I hide in her
from people's gaze
On the stage of life
I wear come actor
protecting me from whistles or applause
when I come on stage
in the spotlight
At nightfall
I put it on the bottom of the drawer
I close it and then I mirror myself
to observe my face, my wrinkles
and see me old again
I smile, I cry
and then I smile again
I take it out of the drawer
and then I wear it
... still like then...
It is not the mask
of falsehood and hypocrisy
but it is my true ego
whatever it is
Everyone has one
And he holds it close to himself every day
all its way
come in an eternal circle
On this huge stage
keeps it guarded
for this great show
staged from life

Towards the Open Sea

Like a raging river
I break down the banks that thought imposes
Nothing can stop me
Neither pride, nor judgments and prejudices
I will continue undeterred
towards the set goal
I'll come dirty and bloody
But it doesn't matter
I will wash myself of what has been
flowing into the open sea
And I won't be afraid if I can't swim
I will let myself be carried away by the waves
Through this long journey
that I will knowingly deal with
