An Unforgettable Teacher

When I began your class I think I knew,
The kind of challenges you'd make me face.
You gave me motivation to pursue,
The best, and to reject the commonplace.

Your thinking really opened up my mind.
With wisdom, style and grace, you made me see,
That what I'd choose to seek, I'd surely find,
You shook me out of my complacency.

I thank you now for everything you've done,
What you have taught me I will not outgrow.
Your kind attention touched my mind and heart,
In many ways that you will never know.

I will remember you my whole life through,
I wish that all my teachers were like you.

The Distorted Mirror

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,
You're not playing fair at all.
I'm really now upset with you,
For giving your distorted view.

You show my hair is turning grey,
It's just the way shadows play.
I know that you're not hanging straight,
To make me look so overweight.

The way you show a double chin,
Is just the way the light comes in.
I think I'm fine, but you're so wise,
To put some accent on my thighs.

I wish you'd try to be my friend,
And tell me I'm a little thin.
Just tell me I look good in jeans,
And frilly shirts and pretty things

Please don't let the wrinkles show,
I'd like to have a pretty glow.
I see you won't respond at all,
So I just tear you off the wall.

The Day the World Stayed Home

The earth turned on its axis,
The sun rose for the day,
But the planes, the trains, the taxis?
They chose to stay away.

The roads became much calmer,
The streets were quieter still,
Because amidst this force of beauty,
The world was getting ill.

The flowers still grew their petals,
The trees, they danced away,
The sky was blue, the grass was green,
And we all rose to see the day.

But the days for us looked different,
Something wasn't quiet the same,
No long commutes or morning rush,
And a virus was to blame.

All the parents taught their children,
Kitchen tables turned to desks,
But play times were without their friends,
The rule was clear:no guests!

Because the most important thing here,
Isn't me, myself and I,
And all the people knew this,
And that's the reason why...

The Beauty

The Beauty of nature is pure and divine,
A creation of God that's simply sublime.
From the mountains majestic to the humble stream,
Every element designed like a gleaming dream.

The play of God is evident in every scene,
From the chirping birds to the grass so green,
The glistering sea and the star studded sky,
All in perfect harmony, oh my my !

The flowers in the meadow dance in delight,
Under the clear blue sky, what a sight.
And the Sun in its splendour, sets the sky ablaze,
Nature's wonder, it never ceases to amaze.

The Beauty of nature is a work of art,
It truly speaks to the innermost heart.
And the play of God, oh so divine,
Manifested through this beauty, so fine.

Bound To Fly

I remember the day we met,
Too young to see the danger.
I didn't know the devil you were,
That you'll fill me with so much anger.

At first you gave me comfort,
Numbed me from the pain.
But the light you gave me faded,
Brought blackness to my veins.

Your trap worked as always,
I am not the only one to fall.
So many friends went forever,
No one's left to call.

Dragged me to rock bottom,
Each day a life in hell anew.
Felt there was no possibility,
Of breaking this dependence on you.

Everyday I woke,
With only you on my mind.
Desperate for your love,
More desperate for you to die.

Through time I saw you were evil,
I watched you steal my soul.
Each time I tried to get away,
You would not let me go.

Tried to scream and cry,
Eventually accepted my fate.
Everyone had tried to warm me,
And now it was too late.

Family and friends could never understand,
Could'nt hear my silent plea.
They did not want to see,
The sick effect you had on me.

You locked me in a cell,
You made me freeze at night.
Made me deceive those I loved,
Made me live in constant fright.

Left broken, battered, and, bruised,
My number of scars grew.
Both physical and mental,
While the number of wasted years flew.

Went through the motions like a zombie,
No longer did I see,
Any type of future,
In this world for me.

You erased any shred of hope,
When everyone turned their backs.
Difficult to escape this dark hope and cope,
Impossible to defend against your attacks.

I knew no Church, no God.
You, my ultimate power.
No way to know real love,
It was a rotten, dead flower.

Then one day it happened,
Most amazing hope one moment brings,
And I decided then and there,
That I would grow my wings.

No longer you take from me,
Like you have stolen all these years,
You will never take my life,
No longer I will cry these tears.

I will deal with the pain.
I will swallow all my pride.
I will deal with my life of rubble,
I'm prepared for this difficult ride.

If it kills me to leave you,
Then I will gladly die.
Because with you I am only surviving,
And I have been destined to fly.

I will soar, laugh and smile,
Will breathe my life once more.
I will go back to a time,
Before you came knocking my door.

The Sacrifice

On a cross, He willingly hung,
His sacrifice, For all was done.
He bore our sins, took all the strife,
So we can have, an eternal life.

His precious blood, it was shed,
Upon the Earth, it now has spread.
He gave his life, a selfless act,
So we can be forgiven, all intact.

His love for us, so deep and strong,
It echoes through, our every song.
He paid the price, that we might live,
Our savior, he did give.

No greater gift, can we ever receive,
Than the life, he chose to leave.
He conquered death, triumphed over the grave,
Our souls are now, forever saved.

So we'll praise His name , forevermore,
For the sacrifice, that he bore.
Jesus Christ, our Lord and King,
We'll serve and honour, for eternity's ring.

If I Could

If I could catch a rainbow,
I'd do so just for you.
So you could share it's beauty,
On the days you're feeling blue.

If I could,I'd buy an island,
You could call it your very own.
 A place to find serenity,
Where you could be alone.

If I could take your troubles,
I'd throw them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding,
Are impossible for me.

Cause I can't buy an island,
Nor catch a rainbow fair.
So I'll just do what I do best,
Be someone who's always there.

Merry Christmas

A little child,
A shining star.
A stable rude,
The door ajar.
Yet in that place,
So crude, forlorn.
The hope of all,
The world was born.

Romeo and Juliet

Oh, harken now, fair gentlefolk, I prithee lend an ear,
For I shall weave a tale of love that many hearts will hear.
The tale of Romeo and Juliet, of passion, pain, and strife,
Of families sworn against each other, bound by mortal life.

Young Romeo, with his heart so pure, didst see fair Juliet,
And in an instant knew his fate, for he could not forget.
Her beauty, grace, and gentle ways didst captivate his soul,
A love so strong it could not die, a love beyond control.

But fate didst have a different plan, and turmoil didst ensue,
For their families, bitter foes, didst forbid their love so true.
In secret did they meet at night, in gardens filled with blooms,
And there they pledged their endless love, amidst the lovers' tombs.

But alas, their love was doomed, for darkness didst creep near,
Misunderstandings, hatred, and death, didst fill every ear.
And in the end, their love didst die, a tragic tale, so true,
Of love that conquered all, but could not conquer family feud.

So raise your glasses, dear good folk, and toast to love so bold,
For Romeo and Juliet, their story shall be told.
Of love that pierced the darkest night, of passion unbridled,
A tale of two young lovers, whose love will never be stifled.

Farewell my gentle folk, I bid thee all adieu,
But remember this one thing, that love will see you through.
And though life may be cruel, and fate may play its part,
The power of love will conquer all, and forever reign in your heart.
