Black

I am the most toxic thing to society that you've ever seen.
I am the scariest thing you will ever witness.
I am the biggest threat to America as we speak.
You still don't know who I am?

For I can be a king or queen.
For I am a treasure that is not treasured.
For my hair hold a heritage of pain.
You still don't know who I am?

Am I a tank, NO
Am I a terrorist, NO

I am worse

GUESS WHAT I AM!

I am black.

Motherly - Nyasia Wiley

How can you heal a broken heart
When the purity of your own
Has been tainted
With the viewpoints of hatred
For the souls you trusted
With your own

How can I not run
When my own life has been
Nothing but a pure understanding
Of my own pain and suffering

For yet I give you all I can
Knowing that the only person that
Suffers, in the end, is me

But I will smile
And say “I love you”
As if that is what the mother
I never had
Said to me

Because being the person
I never had

I became motherly
