What I Have Come To Realize

The crow caws in the evening park,
So I know my work isn't done,
I hear people call on the streets in the morning,
So I know my work isn't done,
I hear the children around me call for milk,
So I know my work isn't done,
I hear the sand slipping slowly,
So I know my work isn't done.
No matter how I tried,
To lay down my agency,
And tried to turn a blind heart,
I know my work has barely just begun.

Animal

Sun shines on my arm,
As something unfurls in me.
Innate memory.

Quality In the Face of Morality

Morality, it's 'good' it's 'grand' and works to some degree.
But sometimes for us it leads to marshland or tragedy.
Why so you ask? Does it not complete and compel the task?
It hinders as often the 'right' thing needs to be waited for and unmasked.
It is not the shining truth that leads to many good deeds and for time and time it has not treated me equally,
I ignored the value of virtue and listened and partook in it frequently,
True it stands that the building blocks have some quality where humans have found gravity,
But It's more what you do and how you acknowledge why they exist with sanity that makes things good and grand in reality.

Balance

Down comes rain,
Beating of the wingspan,
On angry tree umbrellas,
The overwhelming turbulence,
The natural chaos that balances everything in it's hand.

Night Night

alone,
under the street lamp,
I can hear the whispers,
I keep glancing,
move on,
get out of the way,
but I stay.
This rock I wish to stay near,
and starve myself for.
is it foolish that I see pain,
that I put myself through,
as a remedy to it,
it's all the same,
I say.
They tip their hats as they pass by,
oh dear,
and oh my,
can't they just get by,
and live life?
and why,
do I want myself to
break,
but not try.
The puddles reflect back in the night,
what I think I could have,
measuring myself,
against lights,
just back us further into the dim street,
on the
right right,
of the streetlight,
as I creep back,
and say it's not right.

10 Cents

ten cents soft on the pavement
not a sound but the echo
of don't do it.

Messy Lines

Messy,
Messy lives,
Tangled lines,
Often making strong distinctions,
Only after feeling underwritten,
Yes I've made some strong statements,
Now I see I needed them for grounding,
To be able to come back to center,
And not worry what yarns spin around me.

The Disconnect

Eyelids flutter,
White canvas shutters,
Open to the work around,
Close these windows,
And I dream of sin and slave.

I'm red underneath,
But I hide it with parchment,
And nod my agreement.

When light meets dark,
And the villain shakes hands with the lamb,
Is when you'll know who I am.

It Smelled Nice Today

It smelled nice today,
Like berries and honey and tree,
A soft perfume,
Through the moist dessert air.

It smelled nice today,
As I walked alone and curious,
Perhaps there are more things to surprise me.

Out of My Mouth

Slander like ivy,
Grows out of my mouth,
Maybe I shouldn't even if it grows anew.
Who am I to judge even if it's true.
