Another Season

I heard the mist of autumn 
      as it whispered to the sun
        'tis time to paint the summer
      another season has begun
        Then the author of the universe
      like thunder here below
        announced to summer's ember
      it's time for you to go
        Set the trees ablaze with color
      another season has begun
        and blend them with the heavens
      beneath the midnight sun
         Whatever be the reasons
      within each heart we know
        as like the mighty rivers
      all life through time must flow
        Then I heard the fading summer
      as it whispered to the sun
        my yesterday's have passed away
      another season has begun.

Dark Is the Night

That endless black ribbon is a truck driver's home
with his bunk there behind him,he's destined to roam
  Outside of the circle,on the fringes of life
he feels the rejection,from even his wife
  Oh,he knows the truth,'neath the smiles pasted on
but he keeps to himself,turns away and moves on
  Dispatch says get there as quick as you can
when will they consider,he is but a man
  The reciever,the shipper,wanted him yesterday
now here,at the moment,finds himself in the way
  Oh,he knows the story,he's heard it before
with a shrug of his shoulders,he walks toward the door
  He's never needed,'til the load has to go
and then he must roll through the rain and the snow
  He hurts with a passion for they all patronise
but he'll never let them see the tears in his eyes
  He goes the distance,ignoring the pain
and cursing the weather he moves on through the rain
  The price that he pays,what he gives of himself
in this life,finds his place,out in back on the shelf
  He lives all alone in his cabin on wheels
and nobody knows all the pain that he feels
  His wife and his family,busy watching their show
their friends more important,always someplace to go
  The precious few moments he gets on the phone
are too often unanswered,'cause nobody's home
  Should he make a connection,he;ll only be told
there's another call waiting and put him on hold
  The loneliness,the sorrow,the heartwrenching pain
is it a wonder that some go insane
  Outside of the circle,on the fringes of life
the wounds deep within,for long is the knife
  No,nobody knows what a truck driver feels
he just prays he can drown it,'neath the sound of the wheels
  That endless black ribbon stretches far out of sight
ever deeper in darkness,he rolls through the night!

"loves Rose"

In a dream I saw a lady,a precious little rose 
with soft blue eyes that sparkled and a smile so warm it glows
  In her I found the universe,complete with moon and stars
and all the rest of heaven,beyond the planet Mars
  Where I tasted pure sunlight,saw sounds I never heard
as I held onto a moonbeam,felt the meaning of a word
  I had a rainbow wrap around me as I held this tender rose
inside a starlight's twinkle,where love forever grows
  Then I knew my prayers were answered,when I saw you in the light
all I had ever dreamed about,stood there in flowing white
  As we soared across the universe,you sat my soul aflame
and from now until forever,I will never be the same
  I have never held such tenderness,felt a heart so warm and kind
the seed you planted in my soul,now blossoms in my mind!

A Daughter's Wedding

The Lord said son,you two are one 
and precious in my sight
  I heard your plea on bended knee
one warm mid summer night
  Two lonely hearts in need of love
and plain it was to see
  She needed you,you needed her
and both of you need me
  Now listen to my leading
for I know the world will test
  But,I gave each to the other
now trust that I know best
  The world will leave you bruised and scarred
with wounds so deep inside
  but I will soothe and heal your wounds
if you'll in me abide
  Now gaze into each others eyes
see the love I've placed in there
  and take her hand as she takes yours
feel the warmth and all the care
  All love,you see,it comes from me
and placed within each heart
  It flows from you and from her too
as it has right from the start
  So son,you see,just follow me
for I've joined the two of you
  Now,in my Grace,step out in faith
keep love forever...true!

And Thy Shall Be One

When the Lord called to His angels
there was thunder from the throne
He said there is a child of mine down there
who's been too long alone
So He called one precious angel
out from all the rest
and said I'm sending you my child
for you are my very best
Now there are no words to say how much
to Him this child was worth
for Him to send an angel here
to walk upon this earth
Then again when they were married
there was thunder from the throne
He said I see my child now
no longer is alone
Now listen to my story
for I know that it is true
that God does answer prayer you see
there's nothing He can't do
Now I know this precious angel
who lives a mortal's life
for I was that lonely child of His
and that angel is my wife

Angel In the Wilderness

I rolled across the river
the mighty Rio Grandeand 
and breathlessly I gazed upon
the beauty of our land
O're the vastness of the canyons
and dessert colors bright
'neath that lantern ever glowing
that sheds on us it's light
then later gazed the heavens
at those dots across the sky
the moonbeams on the water
as the river drifted by
There's a peace within my spirit
in the stillness of the night
I hear the whisper of an angels wing
somewhere just out of sight
As the miles wash across my soul
and the shades begin to fall
I sense the presence of a lady
and beckon to her call
Her spirit drawing closer
within I feel a glow
midst the essence of an angel
is a love I've come to know!

Window of My Soul

A floodlight burns from deep within
      where shadows dirst not go
        and it's been there since the day He knocked
      on the window of my soul
        I've come to change your life my son
      is what he softly said
        as I peered out and saw His light
      and my sin 'neath crimson red
        I'll warm your heart,remove the dark
      and fill you with my light
        if you'll but open up the door
      the one there to your right
        So I unlocked and learned to walk
      and arose there from below
        and all because my Savior knocked
      upon the window of my soul

Goin Home

Eighteen wheels roll down a highway
on the other side of time
where a dark and ghostly shadow moves
along the centerline
As he rolls across tomorrow
through that final border town
hear the distant fading thunder
as he puts the hammer down
Where there are no ropes or fences
no more dispatch on the phone
Just a free and easy spirit
on his final journey home
He'll never face another heartache
he'll not shed another tear
now reaching out through destiny
he shifts his final gear
As he rides beyond the sunset
he waves his last goodbye
Now he rolls across forever
on that highway in the sky

Judgment Day

We often not know reasons why
as wrong abounds and good souls die
  But they will pay for evil done
on judgment day in kingdom come
  Where they shall feel the hurt and pain
of precious loved ones they have slain
  For those now gone, no pain, no woes
for each tear they've cried is now a rose
  For the precious souls of those left here
I pray the Lord is holding dear
  For He will bottle each tear drop
and, no, not one is shed for naught
  He'll soon reach out with His Right Hand
bring love and peace upon our land
  Rejoin again, us all once more
rejoice we will for sorrows bore
  So let us kneel and let us pray
justice prevail on judgment day!

Our Wedding Day

Though we have no expectations
we're committed to our love
as we stand upon life's altar
be for the Lord above
O blend us Lord together
'neath the heaven's and sun
each heart unto the other
'till we become as one
And in thy Mighty Power Lord
set angels 'round about
to seal our love forever
and to keep the world without
Then across the mighty heavens write
for all the world to see
all you have placed within our hearts
a loves that comes from thee
