Breathe Deep

BREATHE DEEP
Hugging the earth
With you since birth
Though invisible
Much is possible

Fun times in party balloons
Less often in hot air balloons
Kites built and challenged to fly
Planes and blimps enjoy the sky

Games played with inflated balls
Windmills make energy, not squalls
Top-down convertibles make hair stray
Clouds and fog begin the day

Sail boats glide on the waves
Fragrances travel, then saved
Forgive a hurricane or tornado
Enjoy adventure on the go

Now show that you care
And feel the love in the air

The Big Bang

Whales and snails
Bees and fleas
Apples and eagles
All from the Big Bang

Planets shine and align
Bananas and cheetahs
Seashore and dinosaurs
All from the Big Bang

Peaches and cheeses
Asparagus and cactus
Human eye and butterflies
All from the Big Bang

Newborns and acorns
Pandas and pooches
Goose and spruce
All from the Big Bang

Really?

Crapshoot

CRAPSHOOT

High school graduate
Roll the dice
Hope for seven
Maybe eleven

Take a risk
Time for change
Need some luck
Borrow a buck

No snake eyes
Hope for good
This is reboot
College crapshoot

Godwink

The student vacillates,
Succumb to study
Or go to the dance?
With a mind flip of the coin
And help from a higher power,
He is on his way.

Outside the dance
On that clear, cool Spring evening,
His glance settles on the girl,
An illuminated masterpiece of nature,
With joy, beauty, symmetry, vitality.

His excitement is of a child
on Christmas morning.
Witnessing God’s best,
creates an inner explosion,
a new awareness of life.

The moment is frozen forever.
Will she notice his presence?
In silence, there is hope.
But what if it had been raining?

Certificate

CERTIFICATE
Only another signature
The state says it’s needed
Something most never see
Yet it must be heeded

It’s about a child
So difficult to realize
The paper states time and date
The reason for demise

It’s only a piece of paper
A child’s life no more
Only another signature
But so hard to endure

Complete the dreaded task
Then the helpless feeling
Upset hopefully will pass
Now help the living
