Carl Rosenberg Poem
the Twig
does a tree have the right to harbor a twig
or a twig the right to be
maybe the gusty driving wind can answer
when it sets the little fellow free
skipping and sliding across the terrain
then paralyzed by torrential rain
but shelter not far away
the farmer spreads open his bag
our nomad wiggles in to join the leaves and debris
now he has refuge and new friends
is he different than me
only absent a soul but still a tangible whole
the answer is within our beings if we envision
the realm of not seeing
