Bren Deliantoni Poem
Unbutton your lips, let your voice sing out.
Stand strong in its music, it is your own.
Shout your convictions, let all hear your tone
Declare
Proclaim
Condemn
Speak up. Speak out. Speak.
Don’t ignore your sisters’ cry
Don’t sit silent while your brothers die
Use your voice as an instrument of change
Do not be shushed, do not be shamed
Silence is not golden, it’s invisible.

Bren Deliantoni Poem
CATS
The house is a rumble with cat yowls and howls.
They sharpen their claws, and duel with their paws.
They roll and tumble and make the dog grumble.
Steal what they shouldn't,
try high jumps they couldn't.
Use grapple hooks to climb my legs,
leaving bloody trails behind their tails.
Then they sleep and look so sweet,
Until they wake; more stuff to break.

Bren Deliantoni Poem
Chronic
Fool, that I was, I thought to be more
Only to be gutted, and left on the shore.
To Doctor’s appointments, I dutifully arrived
To be sent away, told lie after lie.
You look so good, you must feel fine?
The only explanation, “it’s all in your mind”.
The package so shinny, the skin, so bright,
The body inside, it’s tainted with blight.
So many years, I lobbied and I strived,
Wanting more, than just to survive.
Nothing’s possible, all dreams, gone
Once, I danced, now, pain’s pawn.
The day’s are listless, seas, becalmed,
Waiting for light, without hope of dawn.
