Zipping...

RACING THROUGH THE HOUSE AT FULL SPEED
ZIPPING FROM COUCH TO TABLE IS ALL I NEED
SO EXCITED TO GET A TREAT FROM YOU
PICK ONE WHETHER RED GREEN OR BLUE

FUNNY HOW YOU LAUGH AS I CHASE A TOY
THEN PRANCE AROUND LIKE A STUDDED BOY
COME ON COME PLAY WITH ME TODAY
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN IS THE PROPER WAY

TINKERS STOPS ME FROM RUNNING IN THE HOUSE
SHE WAITS QUIETLY AS QUIETLY AS A MOUSE
ONE FOOT UP READY TO POUNCE AS I RUN BY
SHE CAN’T CATCH ME AS I’M TOO SLY

TAILS WAGGING FROM HAVING SO MUCH FUN
WHO CARES IF THE RACE OR GAME WAS WON
TUCKERED AND WORN OUT FROM PLAY
CAN WE DO THIS ANOTHER DAY……

Patience of Life

Life is but a dream waiting to happen
Always out of reach yet barely attainable
For those who have tasted and savored
A forever road striving to arrive awaits
Illusions of reality, reality of illusions
Voids unfilled, lessons learned, life's amiss
Instincts of intuition pass through one's mind
If to walk in their shoes would we see the same
Leagues of experience tread this life
Standing still on a vertical impasse awaits
Swaying to reactions of actions conversed
Reassess to reacquire what may be lost
Fortunes told, treasures lost and won
Unchartered territories on horizons rim
Wishful thinking to all who dream
The goals to conquer are life's gambles
To compare the depths of here and now
Is natures link to unrelenting pursuit
Inhibitions casually laid to rest aside
Just once take the risk, it is worthwhile.

I Am a Song

If I was a song would you play me
Or just let the pages be
Blowing across an empty table
Like some unread worn fable

Would you filter through and read each page
Direct the words as if I was on a stage
Tell me what and where to go
Or whether to come to and fro

If I was a song would you sing me
And find the chords that has to be
Take the time to make it right
Or would you put me out of sight

I wonder as I look up at you
Do you even feel like I do
The pages lie here for you to see
I am your song come and play me

A Mother's Love

What is the meaning of a Mother’s love
Is it something that comes from above
When hurt or pain may come your way
A Mother’s love is there to stay

Little boys can play so hard
Stopping at nothing in the yard
Running from what we do not know
Always ready and on the go

Growing older we look back and see
Just what life is and has to be
Little boys are gone for now
Becoming men and taking a bow

As you grow up into your adult life
A mother’s love will keep you from strife
Going off into a far off land
Now a man to make your stand

Protecting what you hold dear now
A Mother does not ask of the what and how
She only knows she has a true great love
One that will shroud you tenderly like a glove

Touched By You

Here I am sitting on the edge of insanity
Wavering until I feel like losing control
Pulsing inside my mind drives me wild
Take me down to a place I know well

Walking along this unknown road alone
Strangers coming and going passing me by
Crazy thoughts play a game of comfort and joy
Searching for the one who will share my dreams

Riding through this world untouched
You came along and were music to my soul
Let me taste every part of you tonight and tomorrow
Hold you till I lose myself without knowing

Reaching out but your not there anymore
A memory inside wants more, so much more
Acutely aware of my loneliness through these years
Empty rooms filled with tears and laughter await me now

Lost, nowhere to go circling around
Fading to understand why not now
Our bodies torn and bruised from the past
Seeing the future so far away from here

Waiting for a time to come around again
Days are passing I’m reaching for you
Lay with me let your heart fall
Let me be the sound to make you smile

I Felt You

When we met
Time stood still
Moments passed us
Then came back again

I felt you
You made me smile
You made me sing
You made me want more
I felt you

When we met
You pulled me in
Wrapped me up
And held me close again

I felt you
You made me smile
You made me sing
You made me want more
I felt you

When we met
Taken by you
All that could be
And all that might be

I felt you
You made me smile
You made me sing
You made me want more
I felt you
