Flags At Half Mast

Senseless destruction,
Fear in our hearts
Mindless confusion
A misplaced spark.
A toturous day
Under clouds of grey
Lives lost
Hearts now cold
A sense of urgency
Fears being told.
Questions arise
For which there is no answer
Lives torn apart
More in the hearafter.
More tears flow
The trail grows cold
Our minds numb
Our countries bold.
Flags at half mast
Stories to pass
From the young
To the old.
Courage emerges
Hope reappears
Heartbeats flutter
Even throught the tears.
An attack on a nation
A disgrace of humanity
Yet the people gather
Ready to face the humility.
The sums of our fears
Gives us the courage to regain
A glorious nation
Full of beauty under pain.
We shall become whole again
We shall not divide
Strength is in numbers
Days of terror left behind.

Just Remember

Just remember,
The look on my face as you turn to get on the plane.
Just remember,
The lone tear in my eye that signifies hope we'll soon be together.
Just remember,
The smile on my face shining bright with love for all.
Just remember,
To think of home once a day 'cause it will bring you closer to me.
Just remember,
That war is only a battle, and life is the victor.
Just remember,
That I am waiting for your return with your memory in my mind.
Just remember,
To let the tears fall when it's needed so you don't break apart.
Just remember,
That no matter how long you are gone, hope shines within us.
Just remember,
That no matter what happens, this war will bring you home.
Just remember,
That as you walk away, Your face remains a picture in my mind.
Just remember,
That no matter how many tears we cry, we will be together.
Just remember,
No matter how long you are gone, you will never be forgotten

Sun On Water

As snow white clouds
Fly across the sky
I gaze into the future
Through my minds eye
I see a happy family
And children, there are three
Nothing makes me happier
Than this that I can see
The sun shines on water
As far as you can see
Warm sand between my toes
Ocean spray against my face
As giddy as a child
I’ll never erase this smile
With this future now told
Never yearn to grow old
Just leave a place inside your heart
For special times are here to hold.

Will You Keep Me

Feelings abound through my head and my heart,
Not knowing when or how they can start
To seperate, to radiate
as one as they part

A confusion of emotion
A touch of devotion
not sure who it's for
as a tear falls to the floor

My heart skips a beat
then starts all over again
The trip is the reason
for the start of the fall

Who is this for,
Will i ever find them
Will my heart notice,
Or will my mind ignore

Knowing this emotion
Keeping my life a comotion
Of feelings, Of memories
Is it you?

Not knowing when the day will come
when these feelings will mesh into one
For who they will begin
For who they will end.

The memory slowly fades
Lashes fall to cheek
Breathing slows
Dreams take shape

Are you among them
Will I know you
When I'm awake
Will you stay?

Will I reach for you
Will you turn away
What will the words be
What will I say

Don't walk away
Let me begin
I need you to listen
I need you to see

You have this power
Can you not see
THe emotion of heart
the fear of this day

One word from you
Could bring pleasure
One look from you
Could bring pain

will you let me be
Will you hold me close
Will you reach for me
Will you keep me?

Moonlight Dance

Silence fills the room,
My ears roar like the sea.
I turn to face the moon,
A shadow washes over me.
I close my eyes and listen,
A heart is beating on my left.
I lean a little closer,
I feel breath upon my neck.
I reach a hand up to the ceiling,
And feel the webs with my fingers.
I take a step forward on the dusty floor,
And hear the moan of an empty house.
I feel a hand upon my back,
I turn and see no one.
I retreat to a dark corner,
And watch, and hope I find.
Are you hiding in the shadows,
Will you show me your face.
Is that your breath,
Is that your heartbeat.
There's a chill,
Yet A warmth is coming over me.
I close my eyes once more,
I feel a heart connecting with mine.
I hold my hand out,
I touch warmth.
I open my eyes slowly,
And find a shadow.
I take a step forward,
It takes a step back.
I move a little quicker,
It glides into the moonlight.
What a beautiful sight,
I found you.

I Am the Music

I sit here
I listen to the beat
I rock a little
I tap my feet
I close my eyes
I listen closely
I can feel the beat
I can feel it calling me
My feet want to move
My body wants to follow
My head moves slowly
My mind is with the groove
I hear the different sounds
I hear the rhythm
I hear the beat of the drums
I hear the keyboard
I hear the guitar
I hear so much more
I hear a breath
I hear a word
I hear the soul
I hear the chord.
My mind hears the music
My body feels the beat
My heart beats the rhythm
My feet tap in time
My mind, body, heart and feet are now one
My music is made
I am the music.
