Adam Haynes Poem
I know this might seem chidlish
But I always start to studder
When I feel the truth creeping toward my lips
The truth is…. It is…
I, I, I d-don’t know what im saying
I, I l-like our conversations
And I like y-your sense humor
As you laugh off how, I am all tripped up

Adam Haynes Poem
My life revolves around
Heart breaks, Long goodbyes
And way to many sleepless nights
My heart breaks
Every time I take a breath
And I’m still standing here alone
My hands shake
Every time you turn away
And I am forced to let you go
My mind keeps
Me from drifting off to sleep
Just by picturing you here next to me

Adam Haynes Poem
There are some things that I should say to you
But I just can’t find the words
They keep running from tongue
And avoiding all my thoughts
And I’ve got to find a way, to say… you are…
Well you are…
The words that I can’t find
And the feelings I don’t know
But I’ve got to find a way… to show…
That I can never let you go
Until I find the words, to say…
You are... Well you are……
You are the rain that hits my roof
And sings me back to sleep
You are my strength to rise again
When I’ve fallen to my knees
You are the warmth that comforts me
When the cold has made me weak
And still these words they don’t explain
All the things you are… well you are….
So I try again to say these things
That I should say to you
To track down the words and bring them to their knees
And let them flow across my lips
So you can finally see, to me… you are…
Well you are…
The words that I can’t find
And the feelings I can’t show
But I’ve got to find a way… to show…
That I can never let you go
Until I find the words, to say…
You are... Well you are……
You are the rain that hits my roof
And sings me back to sleep
You are my strength to rise again
When I’ve fallen to my knees
You are the warmth that comforts me
When the cold has made me weak
And still these words they don’t explain
All the things you are… well you are….

Adam Haynes Poem
The sun never shines here in south town
It’s only covered up
by a dust of regrets and letdowns
that i can never come clean of
the shadows dance in the alleyways
the darkness plays in the sun
the children all searching to find a way
for these shades of gray to be fun
we've been living on the wrong side of town
for way, way to long
we are lost when we wake up
still lost when we lay down
and i think it's time we find our way out
lately I’ve begun to notice
things haven’t changed at all
they are all the same
as they were when I was small
maybe my eyes have changed
maybe my life is stained
maybe I can’t understand
why the colors drain and the sun dims
maybe we've been living on the wrong side of town
for way, way to long
we are lost when we wake up
still lost when we lay down
and i think it's time we find our way out

Adam Haynes Poem
Oh my friendly flames
Flicker, fade and dance
Lash out at the this night sky
Singe my regrets of yesterday
And make ashes of my broken promises
Leaven unburnt only the inflammable truth
Let the embers simmer and raise up like a phoenix
Spread your wings and scorch narrow a trail of hope
That i may follow to its end where i shall falter and fall
And at that time i will call again upon you to flicker, fade and dance against my night skies

Adam Haynes Poem
Lost Love is always welcome here
Behind blue eyes
And in these tears
Inside my hollow hopeless heart
Between black lungs
And broken parts
Upon my calloused finger tips
That touched the skin
I've come to miss

Adam Haynes Poem
As the sun comes up on another day
It falls through my blinds but i turn away
i'm not ready to leave this place im dreaming of
It's an overpass underneath a sky
There's no real traffic besides you and i
And that's the way that i'd like it to stay
All's soft and silent on the interstate
The warm moonlight fades on your face
It carries me through your eyes into some deeper place
In through your mind
And to your heart
I'm loving all i've seen so far
You're everything i could ever need
On this long trip
On subsconscious
You'll keep lights shining as i go
All the way from here to Idaho
As the sun lays down for another night
I follow the lead and close my eyes
I'm ready for that place i've been dreaming of
I wont let this chance pass me by
To head to a place where it's you and I
And thats the place i'd like for us to stay
All's soft and silent on the interstate
The dry night air warms this place
It carries me through your breath into some deeper place
In through your lungs
And to your heart
I'm loving all i've seen so far
You're everything i could ever need
On this long trip
On subsconscious
You'll keep me smiling as i go
All the way from here to Idaho
It's a long trip
But its worth miles
and it is worth the pain
its takes to bring me to your face
Cant you see that
Consciously and constantly i need you
yeah... consciously and constantly i need you
Oh can't you see, cant you see i love you
In through your mind
And to your heart
I'm loving all i've seen so far
You're everything i could ever need
On this long trip
On subsconscious
You'll keep the lights shining as i go
All the way from here to Idaho

Adam Haynes Poem
one day We all must face
the ghosts of who we thought we were
back then, back when
we were younger, but we were stronger
We've grown weaker with our age
Souls worn down by passing days
Images of youthful eyes
flash across my dreaming mind
Innocence and openness
A state of grace i've grown to miss
Open doors all closing now
lights and shadows crashing down
Another breath has gone to dust
Another year has turned to rust
Let's find our place in dusk and dawn
Take heart in the loss that is who we are

Adam Haynes Poem
Irony it seems
That the killer went free
He admitted his guilt
But still he went free
The dried blood was under his nails
His fingerprints on the weapon
His face in the photo
But still he went free
His motives were obvious
His poison was jealousy
And he had drank his fill
But still he went free
He never lost composure though
Even as he slowly slit her throat
He even stared coldly into her crying eyes
But still he went free
Perhaps the reason the killer went free
Perhaps the reason is that jury was me
Perhaps the reason that jury said free
Perhaps the reason is that killer was me
