A Slice of Peace

A beautiful creek running through the fall array
Reflecting the woes of mother nature
In a slice of bliss surrounded by concrete.
Casting worries aside, problems fade away.
The distant clank of society blare like trumpets,
but yet the silence here is so serene.

This is the scene they should see.
Birds chirping mixed with the horns of cars,
The harmony creates a melody.
This is the music they should hear.
This moment of peace is the soul's plea.
Leaning on the bridge the city is on pause.
A brief moment; to question one's destiny.
A brief moment to let go of fear.

In a snap, it's back the world moves.
But that peace never fades.
It just turns into another day.
I think I'll paint this scene,
so everyone's mood improves.

Melatonin

Any minute now,
It’ll be kicking in.

Counting endless sheep,
It’ll soon end.

My resistant brain,
mellowed.

It’s slow release,
puts it at ease.

At peace,
finally,
I can sleep.

Sleep Paralysis

It always ends the same drenched in sweat and fear.
The pain of death always feels so real and near.
Stuck frozen in place, eyes wide.
It crawls around my room I'm paralyzed,
Eyes dart across the room horrified.

It reaches my bed where I lay in a death state
Nails dig into my shoulders as it leans in. I feel like bait.
My ears ring from the loud cries. It wants my soul.
Jokes on it, I'm ginger so I only have a black hole.
Released but not forgotten, I'll see it again tonight.

Fresh Snow

Freshly fallen snow.
Songs and people full of cheer.
With trees dressed in lights.

Halloween Guide

Halloween is here!
But have no fear!
This is my guide so you survive.

Beware the graveyards full of ghosts and ghouls.
The graveyard is where you will see zombies feasting.
Stay in the light, form large groups, don't be fools.

Beware the alleys vampires hang about usually toff.
One look in their eyes and… boo! You're paralyzed.
Carry holy water, garlic and a cross, it fights them off.

Beware the skies alien abductions!
Butt probes, clench cheeks, hopefully you stay breathing.
This one's unavoidable good luck, maybe try some ruction?

Beware they pull you in with sweet smells, and words, it’s bewitchery.
It's diabolical, witches plans with humans hypnotized.
Show some cautionary there's lots of trickery.

Halloween is here!
But have no fear!
Follow this guide and you will survive.

                                                    (A. Bonds)
                                                     10-29-20

Lost Soul

Lost soul adrift amongst the rift.
Kept in line ascending to the sky.
Patience is needed, words are heeded.
Faceless echo as judgements passed he got a zero.

Floor disappears, freefalling, eyes just tears.
His destination was obvious. Full of abominations.
Repentance never came. His soul burned in the flame.
Sins are written on his back with every whip crack.

Fairy Verse

Words bounce off the trees creating a beautiful melody,
the emptiness inside this patch of grass surrounded by a sea of trees.
A fairy dances around the fall brush creating a personal melody.
Sounds mixing create the perfect harmony, it's the soul's key.
fairies sprout from all crevices with wings pulling them around.
Like in a trace gliding from petal to petal collecting, natural resources.
Each fairy carrying separate pieces of the human soul almost bound.
Two looming shadows sneak around the forest, dark forces!
Screams and cries echo as fairies are ripped from the sky.
A faint ray of hope dashed with urgency this is an emergency.
A hero descends on madding foe’s raged unleashed they must die,
Small voices can be heard praying amongst this absurdity.
Swords clash, sparks fly outnumbered, the hero fights brilliantly.
Vanquishing evil the hero falls, his wounds start healing magically.
The fairies gather around and start shining vibrantly.
Sunrises the curtain falls I'm glad we avoided a tragedy.

First Hunt

Crickets chirp, branches break,
footstep's heard, the preys alert.
missed shot sons first hunt.
