Story of a Green Beret

Don’t see the soldiers as they move around,
Through the jungle without a sound,
Crawl along this wet,cold ground,
These american boys are victory bound.
Fighting a war they believe is right,
No end is near no end in sight,
One more day one more fight,
See the tunnel but see no light.
Lay me down to get some sleep,
In your dreams the battle seeps,
Mountains high and valleys deep,
What you sow is what you reap.
Visit graves where buddies lay,
Fought for freedom the american way,
War still haunts you night and day,
This is the story of a green beret.

Teach Your Children

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN
Teach your children right from wrong
Help them sing a happy song
Always love them for who they are
Don’t try to make them into a star
Children are sent from heaven above
To be taught,cherished and loved
And soon we will all understand
All a child needs is a guiding hand
They’ll always remember the days of old
And it will be forever engraved in gold
That their parents helped through it all
And picked them up when they would fall

Dear Dad

DEAR DAD
Here is a poem from you children and wife.
Hoping we can make it without you in our life
Missing you more as the time goes by,
We know you pray for us in your home in the sky.
We think about you often and start to feel sad,
Then we pray and thank God for you dad.
A lot of events are coming up to fast,
Memories of birthdays other things that will last.
Your not with us yes we all know,
But our memories of you will always grow.
We remember the laughter you took away our fears,
We know someday we’ll meet without any tears.

I Got You

I GOT YOU
I remember how you told me our love affair had to end
We couldn’t be lovers we could only be friends
I was so afraid I was not able to sleep at night
I had to do something to make you see the light
I was so broken hearted I couldn’t really think
I tried to make you go away with just one more drink
But you stayed on my mind no matter what I tried
Finally I just gave up and laid down and cried
But I kept the faith hoping you would understand
And see hoe much I cared and take my hand
I tried to be funny used all the cool lines
Hoping you would come back,it didn’t take much time
And now we are together you are so much of my life
I’ll never forget the day we became husband and wife

Nevada Gold

Nevada Gold
Well I’ve got that roaming fever don’t know what to do
Last time I had it I looked just like a fool
But there’s gold in nevada enough for every man
All you need is a pick-ax a shovel and a pan
After four months on the trail I finally staked my claim
If I don’t get rich I’m the only one to blame
All I have to do is work hard and don’t go out at night
But all those saloons and dance halls are a friendly sight
After Four months of digging I have lots of gold
Now stay away from town is what I was told
But a few little drinks and a girl by my side
Do a little gambling and come back here and hide
Well I learned my lesson dancing with the woman of a jelious man
Instead of trying to fight I should have turned around and ran
He drew his gun faster now I’m dying on the floor
I guess this is the end I won’t be roaming any more

Flower Child

t’s a little too late with too much hate,
In this world we’re living.
People don’t take the time to hear freedom bells chime,
It’s all taking and no giving.
Now we need a flower child to make it a little better.
Say you’ve paid your dues gonna sing the blues,
That’s what it’s all about.
You say a prayer tonight hoping you’ll see the light,
Then you just scream and shout.
If you know a flower child would you go and get her?
Through thousands of years and millions of tears,
Human respect is stalling.
Because you want you way,got to have it every day,
That is why mankind is falling.
Find us a flower child and send her a letter.
We need to be kind I know the people won’t mind,
They say pray without cease.
So don’t forget the past cause the future won’t last,
All we need is love and peace.
When we find a flower child we can work it out together!

Adam and Eve

Adam and Eve
Back in the beginning
Serpent came a grinning
Told Eve that he had a big surprise
Adam said don’t take it
But Eve went and ate it
Forbidden fruit was sure to open their eyes
God came a calling
Said you are a falling
They had to leave Eden that day
Serpent was the winner
Turned them into a sinner
But it just had to be that way
Now start believing
Satan is decieving
We learned it right from the start
So if you hear him
Man don’t you fear him
Make sure Jesus is in you heart

Glow In Your Eyes

GLOW IN YOUR EYES
(VERSE 1 )
It’s late at night
But the moon just ain’t as bright
As the glow in your eyes
I love you best
Forgot about all the rest
Because I see the glow in your eyes
( CHORUS )
And I feel so safe and warm
As we lay in each others arms
And I kiss your tender lips
You touch me with your finger tips
Then I see the glow in your eyes
Glow in your eyes In your eyes
( VERSE 2 )
We touch and then
We are making love again
And that glow shows in your eyes
Now it’s time to sleep
My sweet princess just go to sleep
Tomorrow I’ll see the glow in your eyes
( CHORUS )
( VERSE 3 )
You hold me near
No place I’d rather be than here
Remembering the glow in your eyes
Such a beautiful sight
Thank you for shining your light
And putting a glow in my eyes
Yea you put a glow in my eyes
We have a glow in our eyes
( CHORUS )

Life Is To Short To Mess Around

Times are getting harder these days.
Seems it was better the old ways.
When a smile and a handshake were all you’d need.
Now,it’s hard when you want to smile.
People used to go the extra mile.
They say they want friends but won’t take lead.
(CHORUS)
Life is to short to mess around.
While you get kicked on the ground.
Faith seems to have left without a sound.
Life is to short to mess around.
Every day it’s the same old thing.
Now you don’t here the church bells ring.
Then we’d all gather round for a big sunday dinner.
Now a tent revival can’t be found.
No more eating dinners on the ground.
We are all the same.we can make each other a winner.
(CHORUS)
Life is to short to mess around.
While you get kicked on the ground.
Faith seems to have left without a sound.
Life is to short to mess around.
Too much violence and too much hate.
We need to change before it’s too late.
Now is the time to get back to the old ways of life.
We don’t know our neighbors anymore.
Don’t call or knock on their door.
Don’t know if their happy or if their in strife.
(CHORUS 2 TIMES)

Grandma

GRANDMA
(VERSE 1 )
Grandma I remember when you talked of days of old
When being with family was as good as gold
And how life was easier back then
You talked of all the good things that you saw
Spending time reading the bible with grandpa
And how you want to go back again
(CHORUS)
Those days will never be the same
Since the day the angles came
And took you to your home in the sky
I know you are happy with your wings
And with the other angles you sing
I’ll see you again as days go by
( VERSE 2)
Grandma I wish you didn’t have to leave us so fast
Always thought your life would always last
But Jesus had other plans
How sadness has begun to fill all my days
Wish you were still here with ma today
But I’ll see you once again
(CHORUS)
Those days will never be the same
Since the days the angles came
And took you to your home in the sky
I know you are happy with your wings
And with other angles you sing
I’ll see you again as days go by
