Jordan Gaines Poem
I hear my car calling to me, and I feel the need for speed.
I walk outside and open the car door to get into my driver’s seat.
I start up the car up, and I pull out of my driveway, heading towards my exit.
I touched the pedal too hard, and now my speed has gone too far.
I touch the brake, but it is far too late.
I see the lights, the flashing of the blue and red.
I watch him approach with my head hanging low.
I listen to his words about how I have taken advantage of the road.
I throw away my pride, for there was no reason for my crime
I reach for the paper, the record of my wrong.
I look onward, knowing one day I will have to confront my fine before long.
I pick my head up, touch the pedal, and continue to go along.
Touch and Go.

Jordan Gaines Poem
You find the words when I have none
You explain the emotions that I cannot
You calm the roaring seas in my head
And cast away all the anxieties of my heart
I listen and am far away from my worries
I am restless in the silence but melt in your sound
Music keeps my head above water
And keeps my feet on the ground.

Jordan Gaines Poem
When life gets hard, it is you that is there,
You calm my nerves and you put me at peace.
You help me understand when life just isn’t fair.
The love I have for you will never cease.
When my life becomes blue and things fall through,
I always have you to turn to.
And this I know is true,
I could not do this without you.
Mom, though I may not be your little baby anymore
I’ll never be too old for you to hold
And the bond that we share is one that I adore.
I hope to be just like you the more that I grow.
