Reflecting On Love

If I delivered my heart to you in an envelope
would you open it?
or would you just throw it away
without looking back
discarding it..like it was nothing
and forgetting all that we had

I think you would
as you are not the same person that
I knew back then
Someone else has taken your place
he is cold and he has a blackened heart
and I really don't recognise you anymore...

Beginning Again

Into the love abyss she went
But this time with great trepidation on her part
As she had stood on the side-lines
For far too long
Too scared to test the water
As the fear of being burnt again was in the back of her mind
She would tread cautiously now
and not let her guard down quite so easily
She was so much more resilient now
Her heart and her soul were her biggest gifts... And she would bestow them to the right man when the time came..
As however long it took
She would wait for him...

You

You touched my heart
And kissed my soul
You embraced and loved me
Like no other
But above all
You chased my demons away..
And made the sun shine for me once more..

I Want You

I want you
I want you to hold me
To be ensconced in your arms
just to be bonded for that time
to make me feel like a woman, once more

Let's close out everything
just you and me
tight together against the world
as nothing else matters
when i am laying with you

In the silence of the night I need you
I ache for you
hold me tight in your arms
until morning comes

Kiss away my tears
and make everything seem right
as I just want you to hold me
today, tomorrow and forever...

A Time For Us

A time for us
a time for no one else
just you and me
sleeping under the stars
smiles dancing on our lips
and our hearts full of love for each other
as no one and nothing can trespass on this time...
for this is our time.
and it is a time for us

Cold

It's like you locked your feelings
In a gilded cage
and threw away the key..

Your soul emits a coldness
I never thought possible of you
and I was so very wrong thinking
you were capable of love
I see that now

And although my days are brighter
At times the sun still doesn't shine

However I will get there
I always do..
but sadly you will remain in your
emotionless abyss forever
And I don't envy you..

Escape

One day she flew away
and just like a butterly
she was free
her silken wings were not clipped anymore
and for the first time in years
she knew her worth
but this time... she would ensure that no one would ever catch her ever again...

Mum

I dreamt of you last night Mum
you smiled at me and held my hand
i woke up with tears in my eyes
and although the years have flown by
my love for you remains the same
as when you died part of me died with you
and although my soul is crying
your memory is alive still
burning bright like a candle in my heart
today, tomorrow and forever......

Defeat

She flew too close
And she got burnt
She had tried relentlessly
to get close to him
But failed every time
His flames were far too high
And she couldn't douse them with her love.

She was spent..
And in the end she had to fly away...
With her resplendent wings
carrying her to better tomorrows
