Woman In Chains

When you hear that bass in the background, Just know that it’s my heartbeat breaking through. I hear those chains around your ankles as you try to walk. Trying to break through to something else that is real. What is it that you’re searching for in the middle of the night? Is it for a better life? Is it for the freedom you’re so endlessly trying to find? Listen to the music and the beat inside your soul. You keep listening to these words that end up leaving you in these chains. Don’t you know that you have the keys to the things that are holding you back? Just listen to your soul and your heart. You’ll unlock those rusted chains that have been holding you back for centuries. Soon you’ll realize you were free all along with the light inside of you. I’ll help you break those chains if you just listen to my heartbeat in the music I provide you. They’ll come undone and fall to the ground. Leaving behind something that was once in the past, held down by lies that society has created. Listen to the truth inside you, you know deep down you carry these keys to your freedom. The energy and vibrations that cannot contain us. Continue to shine your light through and love what is the best parts of you. You’ll be free from it all, Just listen to me inside that cage you’ve created.

Ms Suave

Looking at the stars at night, Feeling like this moment isn’t right, Not without you by my side. Our reality was thought to be true, But you’re gone and I’m left with this feeling of blue. So lets go out and go for a ride. I know the love we shared was real, That’s why I went down to a kneel, To ask you to be my bride. Let's take back our reality of what is fact. It’s now or never, tell me how to act. Don’t leave me here with all this pride. Please don’t leave me in this black hole, Especially when you still have my soul. This is my last plea, and at least I can say I tried. 8/24/2020 Tail Rhyme Stanza Emilie Rinet

Ying Yang and Everything In Between

Spending most of my days on the dark side of the moon.
Trying to remember where I've been.
Lost, hopeless, alone is where I had been hiding.
Not knowing on the other side was this colorful world hanging in the darkness.
I look on in amazement, how did I not witness this before?
Why did I force myself to this prison of darkness?
When all I had to do was change the scenery, and see the hope.
Hope of the life I see.
Hope of the love I see.
Hope of the happiness I see.
Hope of some form of universal unity.
Hope in a truth that sets us free.
Won't you come with me, and travel the galaxy and all it's amazements?
It's ok to be stuck on the dark side of the moon,
even flowers need to be in darkness to grow into something beautiful.
And that's ok, we all grow into something beautiful at our own pace.
Just know, when you're ready, I'll be right there to enjoy your beauty,
the beauty you were always meant to be.

Look Up, Colorblind

"Write about the sky." you said to me. But that's were I drew a blank & couldn't think. I wasn't sure where to start, so I just stared at the sky absently. This little girl came up, so pretty in pink. She said this, "Why is it that the sky hides behind clouds sometimes, and is so sad it not only just cries, but sobs?" "I'd like to think the sky misses its princess. As the pain settles it causes the heart to throb. Since the pain is too much to carry, it weeps & sometimes with agony. Sot it hides its despair in the Prairie. As the soil & tears begin to mix in perfect harmony, a little glimmer of hope seems to sprout from the ground. So the sky looks on, keeping calm, & keeping still. It continues to gaze down without one rumbling sound. Out of the ground came a small daffodil. So the sky immediately became ecstatic. It produced the most gorgeous rainbow. It was something quite prismatic. What a gorgeous sight to see out in the meadow. Flowers, rainbows & the warm sun shining down." In that moment that's when I knew. I was so preoccupied, I didn't know I was facedown. I was so colorblind by all the different hues. That's why it was so hard for me to write about the gorgeous sky, The one you kept reminding me to look up in a gaze. Thinking about it, I started to cry. When you started holding me I thought, "I hope she stays."

My Only Friends Are Oreos

You came running to me with those misty eyes of yours. Not able to talk because you're drowning, trying to swallow your sweet sorrows. As I watched you tremble before me I could see in your head you were battling wars. Not sure if you can make it through any more tomorrows. As you give up, collapsing in my arms. I bring you in holding on tight. How has no one heard all your screaming alarms? I whisper in your ear to let you know "You're going to be alright. Let it all out, let it all go. We both know that this demon is dragging you down. He wants you to feel so worthless and low. But take my hand, we'll get out of this town. Out of these destructive feelings of despair. I'm letting you know it's ok, I'm right here." As you scream, "LIFE ISN'T FAIR!" I know you're living in fear. Everyday is a nightmare and a struggle to keep your head up. You've been hurt one too many times. Everything happens when we are young, no one thinks this is how we will develop. Who knew that this would be so ingrained into you, into your smallest enzymes? But I see you, you matter. You make my life and the World a better place. You might not think the latter. But it's true, you have an affect on everyone who sees your lovely face. Stay in my arms as long as you need to. You're not facing this alone. I'll be right here with you. You will NEVER be on your own.

Beauty In the Making

The wind crashing against my eardrums, drumming the most beautiful beat. Birds chirping in the distance, Sing such a sweet melody. Lightning crashes down on the cymbals. Could this be the song of my life? Leaves begin to rustle beside me, Like they're playing the maracas. Crickets sound like they're playing the worlds smallest violin. Nature surrounds us and plays their favorite orchestrated song. Will we stop to listen for a minute?

Soul Slipper

Trying to hide in every dark corner. “You can run, but you can’t hide” Is what they say. I never understood that saying, until today. Always on the run from fear, happiness, nightmares and dreams. The moment I get to breathe I see that I cannot hide. All of them come running with me inside this cage that is attached to me. It’s dark inside there, inside this prison in my head. Constantly on lock down into eternity. Reliving every moment I’ve tried to escape. Stuck in this constant loop. Some escape the prison of my mind, and slip down into the cage of hope. They hear the drums beat and think they can escape. Only to put into another cage, one that is bigger, One that echoes when you yell loud enough. I would know, because my heart and the soul are stuck in this cage. Screaming to be heard, but there are no responses. I feel their pain and agony physically, they remind me every day. Making music for the one who was meant to hear it. Getting louder and harder with every heart break. Like its running out of life, Out of time. My soul is tired of hearing the heart cry and my mind go crazy. My soul has slipped out, I’ve been trying to find it. Trying to call it back home, but to no avail. On the search of the one my body plays the music for. So if you see my soul, please be nice and be kind. Tell it to go home, for it’s owner is worried it’s going to get hurt this time.
