Trust

love is the trust in a childs eyes
silently she watches as her mother cries
mummy and daddy are not speaking again
as inwardly she feels their sorrow and pain
but later on all will be well
a child knows a child can tell
a kiss from mum a hug from dad
and a child forgets she was ever sad
and later as we look to the star filled skies
we know that love is the trust in a childs eyes

Cieste La Vie

WHAT IS LIFE BUT THE BLINK OF AN EYE
WE SET OUR GOALS AND CAN BUT TRY
TO MAKE IT A BETTER WORLD FOR THE ONES WE LOVE
BUT SOMETIMES WE ALL NEED A LITTLE SHOVE
AS WE STRIVE AND TOIL TO MAKE ENDS MEET
WE BEAR THE BURDERSOME WEIGHT ON OVERTIRED FEET
BRINGING UP OUR CHILDREN AS BEST WE CAN
ARE THEY GRATEFULL AS YOUR LIFE GOES DOWN THE PAN
FEED THEM EDUCATE THEM AND CLOTHE THEM AS WELL
ARE THEY HAPPY BUNNIES YOU NEVER CAN TELL
THEY FLY THE NEST AT 21 TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
AND SOON THEY WAKE UP WITH EGG ON THEIR FACE
THEY REALISE WHAT A TREADMILL THEY ARE ON
THEIR YOUTH AND FREEDOM ARE ALL BUT GONE
CHILDREN OFF THEIR OWN AND NO MONEY TO SPEND
THEY GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES AND KEEP UP THE TREND

Shine In Pink

the typhoon force wind roared through the long dark cave
which was once was the refuge of along forgotten slave
why am i here i ask myself again and again
putting myself through this agony and pain
oh i remember now for my true love i must find
the largest pink shell, just the one of a kind
scrabbling about on hands and knees so sore
i spot the pink shell in the seas shallow shore
i held it up to the fading sunlight
and let out a cheer with all of my might

A Rose By Any Name

A rose once grew strong and tall
sheltered from the elements by a garden wall
and as the days went swiftly by
the rose grew stronger reaching for the light
one day a beam shone through and sealed shut again
masking our sorrow and overgrowing pain
a new day begins and a crevice appears
gently tugging at the roses sharp spears
the rose bent gently to the warming tide
and passed beyond to the other side
now those who deeply feel its loss
take comfort now the rose blooms there
its beauty now even greater as with love and care
it reaches full bloom and we can but stare
