Wasted Year

That was such a wonderful year,
Packed in peace with zeal and cheer,
Festive and vibrant were all at the best,
Sneaking at some distant, eerie was making the nest.
Contagious and dread rose from the east.
Creepy and haunted like the beast.

This is becoming such a wasted year,
Mixed with miseries, worries and fear.
Lost and helpless were all pushed to the brim,
Such a dystopian to even think in a dream.
Forced to see the streets full of lull,
Making people slumber and dull.

This is such a frightening sight,
Poor and migrants heading to the plight.
Hungry and restless wandering to the pole,
Feet soaked in the blood with blistered hole.
Hoping to reach the place of right,
Ending the life amidst this fight.

In the end, corona will hail,
Leaving people timid and frail,
In the end, corona will fail,
Pushing all to the tail.

Land of the Thunder Dragon-Bhutan

Sojourn:Land of the thunder dragon
Decided to sojourn the "Land of the thunder dragon"
Seven of us started journey in comfortable wagon
Rode across the stretch till Jaigaon and entered thru Bhutan gate,
Awesome place Phuntsoling, small but immaculate

Impressed to see traffic discipline at this business town
Clean and tidy streets with no horn
Checked in to lodge for the overnight
Roamed the town for dinner and the sight

Morning queue for the Bhutan Entry pass
Managed system with no bias and bypass
Adventurous drive from Phuntsoling to Thimphu
Chukha hydel project at the riverside we passed thru

Stayed near clock tower and SAARC administrative building
Dzongs and Lhakhangs are major attractions for sight seeing
Perfect balance between traditional, development and modernization
Open spaces, vacant lands might be kept for future planning and expansion

Scenic view from Thimphu to Paro is comely
Reached a resort that made us feel homely
Mystique town along riverside was kind of a dalliance
Fresh memories while scribbling this reminiscence

A perfect destination for holiday and rest
Took us to hike afar the "Tiger's nest"
Climbed the slopes and stairs to reach Taktsang monastery
Indeed! It's a masterpiece crafted in the sixteenth century.

Positive Vibes

It all started in late December at Wuhan
zoonotically transmitted from seafood market at Huanan
Pneumonia like cases brought in the focus
authorities surreptitiously making it hocus-pocus

It Spread across the globe like fire
causing fear, anxiety, distress and ire
Symptomatic and asymptomatic cases under the scanner
episodic lockdowns and containment under the authoritative banner

it wreaked havoc with complete chaos
economics of the world topple and choke
Millions lost lives amidst this rage
and billions lost the businesses and the wage

How many days could the businesses thrive?
loss of productivity will make owner deprive
How many days shall we have to wait?
corona will remain and show it's trait

Who will loose at the end?
it's us, who will have to remend
Infected people not dying on the spot
living in reality could save from hunger and despot

Scientists experimenting, vaccines under trial
and many of us are still in denial
Who knows, corona can also be play coy?
of capitalists motive of conspiracies and ploy

Getting back to normalcy
can only rescue from debts and insolvency
Covid19 might be infecting most of us
fear psychosis and fake news becoming more infectious

Time to bring world back on a silver platter
positive vibes all around to scatter
positive cases will come and go
it's a flu we need to understand and grow

An Old Lady and Her Milk Can

An old lady and her milk can breaks the dawn
Traversing the Topsy Turfy curves with muscles and brawn
Tired and hopeful she rests for a while at the crossroad
Moves to the town by carrying her load

Her shuddering hands with the tattered clothes tells a sad story
About the struggle and hardships to survive with the misery
What she delivers turns out to be nectar so enrich
Untold stories behind this deed to feed the rich

Down and out she walks back down to rustic
Who can understand her feelings so caustic?
Many responsibilities to shed on her shoulder
Arranging feeds and forages to keep on the udder.

Moves ahead gloating to forest with a scythe
Green grass and fodder nowhere in sight
Rapid industrialization made it barren and ungrazed
Misfortunes and miseries rolled in and fazed.

Thatched rooftops pouring out the rain
Another day wasted to clean and drain
Poor animal shivering with fever
Tired to lactate and unable to deliver

Whom to tell about this plight?
Busy with her challenges and the fight
An old lady with her milk can has an umpteen stories to tell
Still she walks miles and miles to serve this ambrosia and dwell.
