An Ode To a People Who Are Suffering

An Ode to a People Who Are Suffering.

First came the war
Iranians had to fight
Eight years of suffering
Warlords hardly are right.

The war was over
Many souls were lost
No more soldiers, no more bullets
But a terrible economic cost.

Because of sanctions after sanctions
Iran´s sun cannot shine.
Iranians are still suffering
But the politicians are fine.

Suddenly, a deadly virus
Started infecting everyone
Among the Iranians who are dying
Are the poor and the rich one.

The end of this tragedy
Depends on God´s will
Iranians’faith is so strong
That it can move a hill.

A Forbidden Love

A Forbidden Love*

The young Romina died
When she was 14 years old
She knew that love was not a sin
As she had always been told.

She believed that her suitor
Could help her to feel free
Though older than her
Her father would never agree.

Love should be the reason
For Romina's conception
But when love is always absent
A loved daughter is an exception.

Romina was a victim
Of her father's brutality
It was an honour crime
Never accused of being guilty

After Romina's death
Her suitor forgot her name
His love for Romina
Became a feeling of shame.

* In memory of Romina Ashrafi.

Putin's Long Tentacles

From Moscow to Kiev
It is not too far.
Putin wants to be
The new Russian Czar.

The Russian ballet
In Moscow's Bolshoi
Became a death dance
In Putin's war convoy.

Sanctions are sweet bullets
Never punish bad behavior
Always hurt innocent people
Never believe any nation's saviour.

Tolstoy, Gorki and Dostoewsky
Great works they wrote.
Putin's future biography
An odious bloody note.

Souls In Heaven

Souls in Heaven.

First, was Neda, then Sahar, now Mahsa.
She was forced to bend her soul.
Once again, a woman died.
The government's sordid role.

Mahsa's death in custody,
Must be steadfastly investigated.
So Ebrahim Raisi said.
Once again, Iranians will feel frustrated.

In Memory of My Beloved Aunt

In Memory of my Beloved Aunt.

Someone I loved
Recently, left me
She is now in Heaven
Where the human evil,
She cannot see.

In God’s Kingdom
Now, she can rest
We pray for her soul
We do our best.

I am very sad,
I was her niece
I know that my Aunt
Is now, resting in peace.

Being Homeless

BEING HOMELESS

On a Lisbon street
An elderly man was crying
Trembling with cold and hungry
His sadness was spreading.

The street was his house
Hunger was his companion
Of all his needs, killing hunger
Was the highest priority.

He was receiving spare change
To be able to kill his hunger
But never enough
To end his suffering.

Hunger, cold and loneliness
Are a severe punishment
For all those condemned
To be homeless.

Every elder deserves respect
They shouldn’t live on the street
Future old people ignore
That the same could happen to them.

We should all reflect
On the lives of the homeless
So that tomorrow we won’t say
That this will never happen to me.

In Memory of Sahar Khodayari

IN MEMORY OF SAHAR KHODAYARI

It is called Esteghlal,
It was the club of her heart
Sahar wanted to support it,
In a stadium of Tehran.
Only men could enter
For her club to support.
Sahar dared to get in
She defied the law.

Not being a man, but a woman
Prevented her from seeing her club playing.
She ended up in custody,
Until the bail, she could pay.
 She was taken to Court
Where a sentence was given.
She preferred to commit suicide
Than accepting the Court conviction.

As the Blue girl became known
And like that will be remembered.
For the Iranian women,
The football doors,
Will not be closed again.

A Daughter of Iran

A Daughter of Iran.

Her talent is a God's gift
She paints with her toes
Her paintings are peaceful
Fateme Hamami has no foes

Some of the world rulers
Peace cannot paint
They prefer war portraits
Which make people faint.

If politicians could paint
Using only their brain
The world wouldn't have
Death, hunger and pain.

Tribute To Sahar Khodayari

TRIBUTE TO SAHAR KHODAYARI

Football is the king of sports
Wherever you are
Before, was played by men,
Now, is played by women too.
In the stadiums of Iran
Only men could get in.
But by the courage of Sahar,
The law was changed.

Football players in Iran
Are now supported
By men and women,
In every stadium seat.
For the iranian women
Sahar became a martyr.
She will always be remembered,
By the way, she claimed
The Iranian women’s rights.

Now, in Iran,
Women´s support, is part of football
They believe that,
The gates of the stadiums,
Will never be closed again.

Fighting For a New Iran

Fighting for a New Iran.

Marg Bar they shout
At those they hate,
Iranians want changes
They are brave, they are great.

They must call for rebellion
So freedom voices say,
But when they need their help
Those voices are far away.

Opponents who gather on the streets
Are persecuted and oppressed
When they fight for freedom and justice
They believe they are blessed.
